The film stars Suriya, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, and Prakash Raj among others. It is a legal drama film directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Jyothika and Suriya. Upon its release, Jai Bhim received universal critical acclaim and widespread popularity. The film was announced in April 2021 and the shooting was wrapped up in September. The film was originally made to release in theatres but got postponed and makers took the direct release route for their film. Soorarai Pottru is one of the best films ever made in India. The film was released on 12 November 2020 to widespread critical acclaim and appreciation for Suriya’s performance. The film is based on a true story and inspired by the life of G. R. Gopinath. G. R. Gopinath is a retired captain who founded a low-cost airline for poor citizens of India. The film tells his story of struggle and difficulties in building the airline company. Soorarai Pottru won five awards at the 68th National Film Awards. The lead actor Suriya won Best Actor, Aparna (Best Actress), Best Screenplay, Best Background Score, and Best Feature Film.
