In April 2022, Amazon Prime Video confirmed that they have renewed the web series Paatal Lok for a second season. However, it is 2024 now and Paatal Lok is yet to be released on Prime Video. But don’t you worry? We have covered everything that you need to know about this brilliant show.
Paatal Lok Season Two Update
On March 19, 2024, Amazon Prime Video in a video proclamation announced over 100+ shows and movies that will air on their digital platform in 2024, 2025, and 2026, Paatal Lok was one among the 100+ shows and movies.
Paatal Lok is set to air in 2025. However, the release date is not revealed yet.
The filming of Paatal Lok has already been wrapped up. The show is ready to be aired in 2025 will all of its cast reprising their roles and several new characters.
Paatal Lok Season One
Paatal Lok aired on 15th May 2020. The show was directed by Sudip Sharma who directed the second season as well. Paatal Lok Season 1 & 2 are produced by Karnesh Sharma of the production company Clean Slate Films. Karnesh Sharma is the brother of popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and brother-in-law of legendary cricketer Virat Kohli. During the release of Paatal Lok 1, Anushka Sharma was one of the producers of Clean Slate Films but as of now, she has left the company.
Upon its release in 2020, Paatal Lok became the most watched show on Prime Video. The show received widespread critical acclaim. The show received rave reviews from critics for its screenplay, story, editing, direction, and performance of its cast.
At the inaugural Filmfare OTT Awards, Paatal Lok won over five awards and over ten nominations. The series received positive reviews from foreign movie critics as well. It is considered as one of the best Indian shows ever.

Paatal Lok featured an ensemble cast of Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, Gul Panag, Abhishek Banerjee, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, and Manish Chaudhary among others. But only Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, and Gul Panag will reprise their role in the second season with several new actors who will be playing new characters.
Paatal Lok Season Two is directed by critically acclaimed director Sudip Sharma.
Sudip Sharma has directed, written and produced several award winning and critically acclaimed shows and films Kohrra, Mai, Paatal Lok, Sonchiriya, NH 10, Udta Punjab, Pari, Laal Kaptaan and Phillauri.
