  • Hrithik Roshan Is On The Top With W2 & Krissh 4

    Hrithik Roshan to headline W2 and Krrish 4

    A Superstar, an amazing actor, a terrific dancer, and the most good-looking man in the Indian Cinema. Hrithik Roshan has often saddened his fans by doing fewer films. But that’s also what works best for him. He is a superstar but he doesn’t enjoy the mass fan following like other actors such as Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Prabhas.

    Hrithik Roshan is presently on a break as he suffered an injury. But his fans are cheering as Hrithik’s superhero film franchise Krrish is returning with its fourth part. After the release of W2 in 2025, Hrithik is expected to start the shooting of Krrish 4. Krrish is the most popular and successful Indian Superhero franchise in the history of Indian Cinema.

    The last film from the Krrish franchise, Krrish 3 was released in 2013 and emerged as a blockbuster. In an event in 2021, Hrithik Roshan confirmed Krrish 4, and recently Hritiik’s good friend and director Siddharth Anand confirmed that Krrish 4 to go on floors in 2025. Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik’s dad has previously directed all the movies of the Krrish franchise. He will return as the director whereas Siddharth Anand will co-produce the film. Both the upcoming films of Hrithik Roshan, W2, and Krrish 4 are expected to emerge as the highest grossers.

    W2 is set to release in 2025 with Krrish 4 in 2027

    But with Priyanka Chopra moving to the US and Hollywood, it is uncertain if she will continue to reprise her role in Krrish 4. According to the sources, Shraddha Kapoor has been approached by the makers of Krrish 4. Either she will replace Priyanka Chopra or will come on board for a prominent role. Actor Vivek Oberoi took the job of the main antagonist in the previous part of Krrish. It will be interesting to see which actor comes on board as the main antagonist in Krrish 4. Krish 4 is bigger and grander than ever before.

    As of now, Hrithik Roshan has shot a major fight sequence of W2 in Mumbai. He along with the entire crew of W2 will soon leave for Europe to shoot a long and major portion of the movie.

    Released in 2019, the success of W1 changed the fate of Hrithik Roshan. With W1, he delivered his highest-grossing film ever. The film earned over 53 crores on its opening day in India and entered the 300-crore club in India. The film grossed over 450 crores globally becoming a blockbuster.

    Hrithik’s next release after W1 came in 2022. He starred opposite Saif Ali Khan in Pushkar & Gayathri’s directional Vikram Vedha, a remake of the Tamil film of the same name, also directed by Pushkar & Gayathri. The original movie in Tamil starred R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The Tamil version was critically acclaimed and was commercially successful. But the Hindi version that starred a brilliant cast like Hrithik and Saif failed at the box office. Though the film received positive reviews but the film failed to perform well at the box office.

    Hrithik’s last and most recent release came in January 2024. It was perhaps one of the biggest films of his career. The film also starred Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi among others. FTR was directed by Pathaan (2023) and W1 (2019) director Siddharth Anand. The film is produced by Siddharth Anand under his new production company Marflix Pictures.

    FTR is an aerial drama. The film is the first installment of a planned aerial drama film franchise. However, the future of Siddharth Anand’s planned aerial drama film franchise is uncertain because FTR failed to match the expectations of the audience. FTR had a great opening weekend at the box office but the film failed to perform on the weekdays. Made on a budget of 250 crores, the film earned over 300 crores globally but didn’t achieve the blockbuster status. FTR received mixed to positive reviews. It was the most anticipated film of the year.

    As of now, Hrithik Roshan is shooting for his next biggie which is slated to release on Independence Day 2025.

    Aditya Chopra, head of Yash Raj Films (YRF) produced drama stunt movies ETT (2012) and TZH (2017) with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Both films were blockbusters at the box office.

    In 2019, Aditya Chopra produced another drama film ‘W1’ with Hrithik Roshan and T Shroff as a standalone film. Again, W1 was a blockbuster at the box office.

    But after signing Shahrukh Khan in Pathaan, Aditya Chopra developed the idea of the YRF Universe. He planned Bollywood’s biggest and one of Indian Cinema’s biggest movie franchises with Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shahrukh Khan in the leads. Alia Bhatt is the newest entrant in the YRF Universe. She will head the female film titled ‘Alpha’. She is shooting for the same.

    But for now, the next film from the YRF Universe is ‘W2’. W2 is one of the most awaited and anticipated films of 2025. It is predicted to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. W2 is special for many reasons. It is a large-scale hardcore drama film starring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. But one of the biggest reasons to watch W2 is Jr. NTR.

    One of the biggest movie stars of the country from the Telugu Cinema, Jr. NTR is making his Hindi debut with W2. He is playing the main antagonist against Hrithik Roshan in W2. Jr. NTR was signed for W2 post the mammoth success of his last film ‘RRR’ and YRF’s 2023 film ‘Pathaan’. Ayan Mukerji director of ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmastra’ is directing W2.

The film marks the Hindi movie debut of TV actor Lakshya who stars as a lead in the movie and Raghav Juyal as the main antagonist. K was aird at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023. The film received widespread critical acclaim in the US and Canada. Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment announced the English remake of the Bollywood film ‘K’. Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment previously worked on the John Wick film.

    Lakshya’s K is set to air at Disney + Hotstar by the end of August. The film is already available on Lionsgate in the West.

    Chandu Champion

    A biographical sports drama film ‘Chandu Champion’ is amongst the most critically acclaimed films of the year. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead.

    Chandu Champion is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, a veteran and India’s first Paralympics gold medalist. The film stars Kartik Aaryan as Murlikant Petkar with Vijay Raaz as his coach Ti Ali.

    Popular filmmaker Kabir Khan who is known for directing ETT and Bajrangi Bhaijaan directed the film. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.     Munjya

    A part of the Maddock Supernational Universe, Munjya is a horror comedy film directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under his production banner Maddock Films.

    Post the massive success of Stree (2018), Dinesh Vijan founded the Maddock Supernational Universe where the universe will comprise several high budget horror and supernational films. Varun Dhawan’s 2022 supernational comedy Bhediya and Munjya (2024) are part of the Maddock Supernational Universe with the newest entrant Stree (2024) that released yesterday and is set to emerge as the highest grossing Hindi film of the year.

    Munjya stars Abhay Verma, Sharvari, Sathyaraj, and Mona Singh among others. Munjya is the sleeper hit of the year. Made on a budget of 30 crores and with new actors, Munjya emerged as a blockbuster by grossing over 130 crores globally.

    Munjya is set to air on Disney + Hotstar soon.

    Bad News

    A successor to Akshay Kumar’s Good News (2019), Bad News is a comedy film directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar.

    Bad News stars Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the lead roles. The film received mixed to positive reviews and emerged as a big success by grossing over 100 crores globally. However, the film failed to match the expectations set by Good News (2019) starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljeet Dosanjh. Good News grossed over 300 crores globally upon its release in 2019. Tripti Dimri plays the female lead with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk as her love interests.

    Bad News is set to air on Amazon Prime soon.

    Mr. & Mrs. Mahi

    Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is a sports drama romantic movie starring Rajkummar Rao and Jhanvi Kapoor in the lead. The film also stars Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, and Zarina Wahab in supporting roles. The film was released on 31 May 2024 to positive reviews and was a decent box office hit. The cricket drama film is related to legendary Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

    The film was recently released on Netflix.

    Ishq Vishk Rebound

    Ishq Vishk Rebound is a comedy romantic friendship film starring Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grrewal. The film is a sequel to the 2003 film Ishq Vishk.

    Released on 21 June 2024, Ishq Vishk Rebound is the Hindi debut movie of Hrithik Roshan’s niece, Pashmina Roshan. The film generally opened to poor reviews and was a flop at the box office.

Dil Dhadakne Do was another adventure drama film by Zoya Akhtar and it emerged as a commercial success but failed to match the standard of an adventure drama film set by Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Dil Dhadakne Do was criticized for its runtime and climax. Though the film is a good one-time watch. The film starred an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Rahul Bose, and Vikrant Massey among others.

    Today, even in 2024, the audience is still watching and loving Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and demanding a sequel. In 2012 and 2013, the director of the movie Zoya Akhtar and producer Farhan Akhtar expressed their belief that there is no need for a sequel of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. But in the last few years, the makers and the lead cast have shown their interest in coming back with a sequel. The makers and the cast of the film recently celebrated the 13th anniversary of the film and showed interest in part 2. But nothing has been officially announced yet. In the future, Zoya Akhtar will surely come with another adventure comedy-drama film but, certainly, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 will never happen.

    Zoya Akhtar’s recent directional work includes the musical drama film Gully Boy (2019) with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film was a massive commercial success and critically acclaimed. In the meantime, she produced and wrote a film titled Kho Gaye Hum Kahan for Netflix and a show titled Dahaad for Amazon Prime Video. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan starred Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Pandey, and Adarsh Gaurav while Dahaad starred Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Verma, and Gulshan Devaiah. He is presently shooting for W2 (2025) which is amongst the most awaited films of 2025. It also stars South superstar JR NTR as the main antagonist. After W2, Hrithik Roshan might move to Krrish 4. However, he has asked Zoya Akhtar to plan the sequel of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

    Farhan Akhtar who is a noted producer is busy with his production company Excel Entertainment which has produced a couple of successful web series and commercial successful films. His upcoming and biggest project is D3 with Ranveer Singh reprising the role of Don replacing Shahrukh Khan. Farhan is the real brother of Zoya Akhtar and even he has asked his sister to plan the sequel of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

    Abhay Deol’s career has fluctuated post-Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He is doing fewer projects. He was last seen in a Netflix show titled Trail By Fire. Though he is very much interested in doing the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara sequel. Whereas Kalki Koechlin is busy with her projects.

    Besides Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif is also a member of the YRF Universe. She was last seen in T3 opposite Salman Khan. She recently got married to actor Vicky Kaushal. As of now, she has no project in hand.

    Director duo Raj & DK have caused havoc with their shows on the OTT platforms Amazon Prime and Netflix.

    Raj Nidimoru known as Raj was born in Tirupathi while Krishna D.K known as DK was born and brought up in Chittoor. They both went to the same engineering college where they met. The duo went to the USA to pursue engineering but ended up in the film business.

    Raj and DK worked on a short film before making their full-fledged debut. Their debut film was an English film titled Flavours released in 2003. Their second film and their first Hindi film was titled ‘99’ that released in 2009. 99 starred an ensemble cast of Kunal Khemu, Boman Irani, Mahesh Manjrekar, Soha Ali Khan, Cyrus Broacha, Vinod Khanna, and Amit Mistry among others. The film was a moderate success at the box office.

    Raj and DK received widespread recognition and greater success with their 2013 directional Go Goa Gone, a drama comedy film. The film starred an ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari, and Puja Gupta among others. Though the film was a decent success at the box office.     Their next show is titled Citadel: Honey Bunny and it is an official adaption of the American TV Series Citadel starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra with the Russo Brothers as executive producers. The Hindi version of Citadel: Honey Bunny stars Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sikander Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, and Soham Majumdar among others.     Post Citadel: Honey Bunny, Raj & DK will move to Gulkanda Tales which is another show for Amazon Prime. Gulkanda Tales is a comedy fantasy drama series. The show stars an ensemble cast of Kunal Khemu, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Mantra Mugudh, and Patrelekhaa Paul among others. The show is set to release in 2025.

    Raj & DK recently announced another show. the show is titled Rakht Brahmand and is all set to air on Netflix. Rakht Brahmand is a fantasy drama show starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Ali Fazal among others. Ali Fazal is popularly known for playing Guddu Bhaiya in Amazon Prime’s blockbuster show Mirzapur. Rakht Brahmand is the third collaboration between Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj & DK after The Family Man Season 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny. In 2016, she was featured as the wife of MS Dhoni in his biographical film titled MS Dhoni The Untold Story. The film was a major commercial success. Post the success of MS Dhoni’s The Untold Story, Kiara was signed opposite Mahesh Babu in the Telugu hit drama film Bharat Ane Nenu.

    In 2019, Kiara Advani tasted her career’s biggest success by featuring opposite Shahid Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh opened to a blockbuster response and is one of the highest-grossing films of 2019. It is still the highest-grossing film for Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani as well. In the same year, Kiara Advani had another big release ‘Good News’ that became a blockbuster at the box office. The comedy-drama film starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh. In between she featured in Karan Johar’s two Netflix films, Guilty and L Stories.

    In 2020, two films of Kiara Advani were released digitally on platforms. Her first digital release was the film Laxmii opposite Akshay Kumar.     In 2022, Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan featured in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. While most of the Hindi films were flopping in 2021 – 2022, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became the biggest hit and is one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. The film managed to gross over 250 crores globally becoming a blockbuster. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was directed by Aneez Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar. In the same year, Kiara Advani featured opposite Varun Dhawan in a romantic drama film titled Jugjugg Jeeyo. The film also starred Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. the film received a positive response and managed to perform well at the box office.

    Kiara Advani’s last release came in 2023 opposite Kartik Aaryan. The film is titled Sathyaprem Ki Katha is directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film received positive reviews and performed well at the box office.

    Kiara Advani’s next and only release of 2024 is a film titled ‘Gamechanger’. The film stars Ram Charan in the main lead. Gamechanger is Ram Charan’s next film following the widespread and international success of his last film RRR. Post RRR, Ram Charan has become an international star with fans from all over the world. So, the expectations are sky high from Gamechanger. The film is directed by noted filmmaker Shankar. Gamechanger is expected to become one of the highest-grossing Telugu films ever.

    After Gamechanger, Kiara Advani will be seen next as the female lead in Ayan Mukerji’s W2. W2 stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead with Jr NTR as the main antagonist in his Hindi debut film. W2 is one of the biggest releases of 2025. It is the sequel of W1 (2019) and a part of the YRF Universe. YRF Universe includes films like ETT, Pathaan, TZH, T3, and W1.

    Kiara Advani has also been signed to feature as the female lead in D3. Shahrukh Khan who has walked out of D3 is now being replaced by Ranveer Singh. Ranveer Singh is the new D and he plays the main lead in Farhan Akhtar’s D3 with Kiara Advani in the female lead. However, the film has generated negativity with fans being disappointed in Ranveer Singh replacing Shahrukh Khan as D.
