MS Dhoni is one of the biggest cricketers in the world. He is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen ever and the most successful international cricket captain in history. He is the only captain to win three ICC tournament trophies.
MS Dhoni is one of the greatest Indian players and the prime face of IPL. Since 2008, MS Dhoni has won over five IPL trophies. He is the most popular figure in IPL.
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020 and since then his retirement from IPL has been a major query. Presently he is 43 years old and the oldest player in the tournament.
After winning his fifth IPL trophy in 2023, everyone believed that MS Dhoni would retire from IPL but he confirmed his participation in 2024.
2024 was considered as MS Dhoni’s final IPL season but he is returning in 2025
CSK has confirmed that MS Dhoni will play IPL 2025 as an uncapped player. MS Dhoni is quite old for the game and we have seen in previous seasons that he can’t play like he used to play in his prime years. The younger MS Dhoni was the most fearless and dangerous batsman ever. But he is too old now.
For Indians, the IPL is equivalent to MS Dhoni. Nobody wants him to retire. MS Dhoni is the most loved and cheered cricketer ever, the whole stadium used to get charged up with the audience whenever MS Dhoni stepped into the ground to play. For broadcasters, MS Dhoni is the biggest reason to make the IPL successful and mint large revenue.
In the previous season of IPL, in every game MS Dhoni arrived on the ground to play just a few balls and he smashed every ball out of the park. He can’t run like he used to but he is making sure to score enough runs through fours and sixes.
Like the previous season of IPL, MS Dhoni won’t captain his team CSK in 2025 and will play as a wicketkeeper-batsman. The cricketer is expected to start his training soon for the coming season.
IPL 2025 is going to be MS Dhoni’s final season
