Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam will release in 2026
Filmmaker Prashant Neel and the makers of the Salaar franchise have officially begun the shooting of the second part of the film titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam. Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is a sequel to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. The film stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles with an ensemble cast of Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Shruti Hassan, Tinu Anand, and Devaraj among others. The film is produced by Hombale Films. Prashant Neel and Hombale Films previously collaborated on the KGF film franchise. KGF Part Two is amongst the highest-grossing Indian films.
Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is scheduled to release in 2025 but the film might get postponed to 2026. Yesterday on Prabhas’s 45th birthday, the makers announced that they have begun the shooting for the film. The film is presently shot in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. It is one of the most anticipated Indian films since its first part was subject to colossal appreciation from fans. However, some critics didn’t like the first part.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire released on 22 December 2023 during Christmas. Salaar: Part 1 received an A (adults only) certificate due to the display of high violence in the film. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics whereas fans enjoyed the film wholeheartedly. Many compared the film with the KGF series because the same dark theme was used. However, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire was a major commercial success becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. A big action sequence of Salaar: Part 1 was shot featuring 700 vehicles including trucks, cars, jeeps, and tanks. The film is shot in Hyderabad, Italy, Budapest and Paris. The makers have already shot some portions of part two while filming part one.
Prashant Neel’s 2018 award-winning and critically acclaimed film KGF Chapter: 1 came as a breakthrough for him. Prabhas who became one of India’s biggest superstars after Baahubali desired to work with Prashant Neel after watching KGF Chapter: 1. In 2020, Prabhas met Prashant Neel and approached to collaborate on a film with him. At that time Prashant Neel was busy filming KGF Chapter 2 while Prabhas was busy shooting for Adipurush (2023) and Radhe Shyam (2022). In December 2020, Prashant Neel and Hombale Films announced Salaar with Prabhas. Later it was announced that it would be a two-part film.
Prabhas is one of the biggest superstars of the country and the only pan-India star. According to the reports, he received a remuneration of around 140-150 crores for Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire where he is going to take home at least 200 crores for the second part of the film. Actress Shruti Hassan who played a supporting role in the film received a remuneration of 8 crores while Prithviraj Sukumaran who essayed the second lead received a remuneration of around 6 crores.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire grossed over 800 crores worldwide becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Shahrukh Khan’s 2023 releases Jawan and Pathaan grossed over 1000+ cores respectively becoming two of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal which grossed over 900 crores is the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.
