Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah or TMKOC is one of the most loved comedy shows in India. The show has been premiering on Sab TV since its inception in 2008. It is one of the longest-running shows and the longest-running Sitcom show. Over the years TMKOC has gained a cult following and is one of the most loved, cherished, and respected Indian shows ever. However, over the past few years, TMKOC has been encircled by several controversies and viewers have been complaining that the show has lost its originality and charm.
As mentioned earlier, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the most loved Indian comedy show ever. Everything went right for its makers when they launched this show on 28 July 2008. They had an excellent team of script and story writers. They had an amazing bunch of crew and production members. And the biggest highlight is that TMKOC had the best star cast a show could ever have. But as the years have conceded, TMKOC has been criticized heavily for coming up with dull stories and uninteresting characters. The viewers have blamed script and story writers.
Many actors of TMKOC have left the show due to creative differences or to focus on other ventures or studies. Whereas a few actors have passed away. TMKOC has been running successfully for the last sixteen years but its fan following has abridged significantly. The show is still running because of its original characters that have been associated with the show since its beginning.
Legendary actor Dilip Joshi who plays the title character of Jethalal Gada is one of the major reasons why TMKOC is still running successfully. Besides he has excellent support from his colleague actors such as Amit Bhatt (Babuji), Mandar Chandwadkar (Bhide), Shyam Pathak (Popatlal), and many more.
Several actors who have left the show are Disha Vakani (Daya), Bhavya Gandhi (Tapu 1), Raj Anadkat (Tapu 2), Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta), Neha Mehta (Anjali Mehta), Jheel Mehta (Sonu 1), Nidhi Bhanushali (Sonu 2), Kush Shah (Goli), Gurucharan Singh (Sodhi) and Jennifer Mistry (Roshan). Kavi Kumar Azad (Dr Hathi) and Ghanashyam Nayak (Natu Kaka) passed away and were replaced by other actors.
Unfortunately, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is yet to retain its lost glory even after introducing new scriptwriters and new characters.

Yup! Indians are obsessed with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and the makers can bounce back by bringing in several changes to the show.
Actress Disha Vakani who played the title role of Daya took maternity leave in 2017 and is yet to return to the show. The actress has decided to focus on her personal life and give her maximum time to her kids. However, the makers have been trying for the last several years and approaching her to continue her association with the show. Disha Vakani’s character of Daya is one of the most loved comedy characters ever. It is not easy to replace her with another actor but it’s high time now. The makers have to get another actress on board to essay the character of Daya. Viewers will be disappointed but will get involved with the show by bringing this major change.
The biggest reason how TMKOC can bounce back is by bringing the most demanded and new character of Popatlal’s wife.
Shyam Pathak who plays the character of Popatlal is happily married and has kids in real life. But in TMKOC his imminent marriage is one of the biggest highlights of the show. We are sure viewers will jump to watch TMKOC passionately once Popatlal gets married. It’s high time now. Makers should introduce a new character of Popatlal’s wife and present his wedding episodes.
Despite controversies and criticism, the cast, crew, and makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are trying hard to continue the show. And they are blessed with a loyal fan following. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is still topping the charts. But the makers have to advance the comedy levels.
Many Bollywood celebrities have made an appearance in the show to promote their films. Celebrities such as Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and several more have made an appearance in the show.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the recipient of several awards. It is the No.1 show in India. Its legacy and impact are nonpareil. We hope that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continues successively with a slight improvement.
