But he was not able to deliver a big blockbuster until Padmaavat and Kabir Singh happened to him.

    In 2018, legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali signed Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh in his ambitious project Padmaavat. Shahid Kapoor starred as Ratan Singh. The actor was cast opposite Deepika Padukone who starred as Padmavati. While Ranveer Singh in his film career’s first negative role, starred as Alauddin Khilji.

    Padmaavat was successfully released on 25 January 2018 with mixed to positive reviews. The film received widespread popularity. The film received praise for its cinematography, visual effects, design, sound, costume, and performance of the cast members. Padmaavat grossed over 500 crores globally to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. The film was made on a budget of 200 crores. With Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor had his first blockbuster and highest-grossing film.

    In 2019, Shahid Kapoor alongside Kiara Advani starred in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh is one of the highest-grossing films of 2019 and one of the most popular films ever.

    Following the success and popularity of his 2017 Telugu directional film Arjun Reddy, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga decided to remake the film in Hindi language. Sandeep Reddy Vanga initially wanted to cast Ranveer Singh in the lead but things didn’t work out and he approached Shahid Kapoor. But the producers and head of Cine1 Studios, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde had bought the Hindi remake rights of Arjun Reddy and they wanted to cast Arjun Kapoor in the lead. Despite Arjun Kapoor being the producer’s choice, Shahid Kapoor as the lead actor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga as director were announced in the remake of Arjun Reddy titled Kabir Singh.

    The trailer of Kabir Singh was well received by the audience, especially the young generation. Kabir Singh released on 21 June 2019 to massive expectations and received mixed to positive reviews. The film was subject to widespread fame and ended up becoming a major commercial success. Shahid Kapoor had his highest-grosser and his most memorable performance ever with Kabir Singh.

    Post the success of Padmaavat and Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor starred in his 2022 film titled Jersey. The film was an official remake of the 2019 Telugu blockbuster film with the same title. The Shahid Kapoor star received high praise and positive reviews but the film flopped at the box office.

    But now the actor is stepping to do large films too. His upcoming film is a big entertainer.

    Following the disappointment of Jersey, Shahid Kapoor moved on to do big films. He collaborated with Sultan and TZH fame director Ali Abbas Zafar for an film for Jio Studios. The film was titled ‘B Daddy’ and released digitally platform Jio Cinema. B Daddy became one of the most-watched films digitally with high praise for Shahid Kapoor’s performance.

    Besides B Daddy, Shahid Kapoor had another big digital release with his first-ever web show titled Farzi. The show was directed by The Family Man series fame director duo Raj & DK. Farzi was released on 10 February 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. The show ended up becoming the most-watched web TV show ever in India. The show is renewed for a second season with Shahid Kapoor reprising his role.

    In 2024, Shahid Kapoor alongside Kriti Sanon starred together in a romantic comedy scientific film titled Teri Baaton Ne Aisa Uljha Jiya. The film was released on 9 February 2024 to mixed to positive reviews. Teri Baaton Ne Aisa Uljha Jiya grossed over 100 crores globally becoming a commercial success. The film was directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah and produced by Dinesh Vinjan.

    As of now, Shahid Kapoor is discussing quite a few films. He is also shooting for his upcoming film titled ‘Deva’. The film is directed by popular Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews. Rosshan Andrrews is known for directing many hit Malayalam films. The film is currently under production and set to release on 14 February 2025. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, and Kubbra Sait. Shahid Kapoor recently shared his look from the film. Deva is going to be a very crucial film for Shahid Kapoor.     Salman Khan’s big film T3 marks its first anniversary today. It was one of the most anticipated films of 2023 and the biggest film of Salman Khan since 2019. T3 was predicted to become a high grossing film at the box office. But what happened, shocked everyone. T3 went wrong and worse.

    T3 is the fifth film for the YRF Universe. Among the characters of Ti Pathaan, and Kabir, T is the most popular character as the T film initiated the foundation of the YRF Universe.

    YRF Universe is amongst the biggest and most successful film franchises in India.

    TZH (2017) earned over 330 crores in India and over 600 crores globally.

    ETT (2012) earned over 200 crores in India and over 300 crores globally.

    T3 (2023) earned over 270 crores in India and over 450 crores globally despite mixed reviews. All the films from the YRF Universe have received positive reviews. But, T3 received mixed reviews and criticism for its story, screenplay, and direction. Even the makers of the film were shocked by the performance of T3.

    T3 didn’t fail at the box office practically. But the film underperformed considering the hype of the YRF films and the superstardom of Salman Khan. Actually, whatever business T3 achieved at the box office is only because of the superstardom of Salman Khan. Otherwise, the film would have flopped terribly.

    So, what went wrong with T3

    T3 had a terrible release date. The film was released during festive season when almost every Indian citizen was busy celebrating the festival. Also, T3 released during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 which was held in India. Nobody would be interested in watching a film when the Indian Cricket Team is playing semi-finals and finals of the World Cup in India.

    T3 had everything. It was made on a budget of 300 crores. They had an amazing stunt team. They had a great start cast of Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. But, T3 didn’t have the main thing, the story.

    The story of T3 seemed to be foolish. Forget the story. The direction, screenplay, music, and editing of T3 were worse, especially after watching a film like Pathaan in the same year.

    Salman Khan did everything to save the film and it is because of him that T3 is still a hit. Emraan Hashmi is an excellent actor but he looked unconfident as the main protagonist of the film.

    The story of T3 was written by the film’s producer Aditya Chopra and the film was directed by Maneesh Sharma. They both are to be blamed for T3’s underperformance.

    Moving on, the future of YRF Universe is amazing. They have films like W2 and Alpha set to release in 2025. Pathaan 2 is currently under production and writing is going on.

    There won’t be another T film anymore. T3 was the last film of Salman Khan as T.

    But Aditya Chopra, CEO and head of YRF Entertainment is planning the biggest Indian film ever. He is planning a two hero film with Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan in the lead. Both actors will reprise their roles of Pathaan and T in a film titled ‘T vs P’. It is said to be released in 2030 under the direction of Sidharth Anand.

    Lokesh Kanagaraj has met Aamir Khan in Chennai and they are discussing a film together which is almost confirmed.

Coolie is a high budget film starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. The film also stars popular Telugu actor Nagarjuna.

    Besides Lokesh Kanagaraj, Aamir Khan has met a few other Telugu film directors. At present, Aamir Khan has recently wrapped up the shooting of his 2025 film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The film was earlier scheduled to be released in December 2024 but was postponed to 2025.

    Sitaare Zameen Par will be released with the least expectations. It is not a hyped film. Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports drama film, a genre that presently is not working in Indian films. Sitaare Zameen Par is a remake of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Champions’. Considering Aamir Khan’s stardom and brand value in India, Sitaare Zameen Par could easily go past 300 crores globally if the film is made well.

    With Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, W2 is estimated to earn over 200 crores on its opening day in India. A box office opening anywhere between 180-200 crores will be considered history. W2 is carrying an excellent buzz. The film might even earn 300+ crores globally on its opening day.

    W2 is going to leave behind Pathaan and W1 (2019) in terms of stunts, lavish filmmaking, songs, locations, brilliant direction, and cinematography. The film is presently being shot in Mumbai after wrapping up the Europe shooting schedule.

    Hrithik and Kiara Advani recently shot a song in Italy. The film also stars Anil Kapoor in a key role. Jr NTR and Hrithik will shoot a major climax sequence this month.

    W2 is predicted to earn over 1000+ crores from all parts of India, especially from the southern states due to JR NTR’s presence. The film might earn over 1800+ crores globally. Surely W2 is going to set record breaking box office numbers. This film is going to create history in 2025.

    Besides W2, Salman Khan’s Sikandar and Shahrukh Khan’s King are the biggest Indian movie releases of 2025. But none of the films is carrying the hype like W2.

  • Now Salman Khan Announces Kick 2

    Salman Khan and his producer friend Sajid Nadiadwala have announced Kick 2. They have not announced it officially but shared a small glimpse of Salman Khan. The duo is presently shooting for their upcoming hardcore drama film Sikandar.

A few months ago, they announced their upcoming high-budget film titled Sikandar. The film is scheduled to release in 2025 in March or April.

    Sikandar stars Salman Khan in the main lead besides Sathyaraj, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Pratik Babbar, Jatin Sarna, and Nawab Shah among others. The film is directed by highly successful and recognized filmmaker A R Murugadoss. The Mumbai schedule of Sikandar was wrapped up recently. The film will be next shot in Hyderabad and some European countries.

    While filming some high octane scenes of Sikandar, producer Sajid Nadiadwala candidly clicked an attractive photo of Salman Khan and announced the sequel of Kick. In 2014, Salman Khan starred in Kick which was directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

    Kick 2 will be announced officially only after the release of Sikandar. For now, Sajid Nadiadwala has confirmed that the sequel film is in the making, and pre-production work has begin. The script is already narrated to Salman Khan and it’s a big yes from him. He liked the script.

    Kick (2014) featured Salman Khan, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Jacqueline Fernandez among others. Except Salman Khan none of the actors who featured in the first part of the film will reprise their role in the sequel. Kick 2 will have a new star cast along with Salman Khan and a fresh story.

    The expectations are sky high from Kick 2 as Kick 1 was a major commercial success. the film had its global release in 2014 on 25 July 2014. The film had generally received positive reviews and emerged as a blockbuster. Kick (2014) earned over 400 crores globally and over 250 crores in Hindi in India.

    Kick (2014) was shot in Glasgow, Scotland where Salman Khan and Randeep Hooda shot a sequence featuring a few cars, a bus, and a helicopter. A major scene from the climax of the film was shot at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland. The film was also shot in Mumbai and Delhi.

    A R Murugadoss who is presently directing Salman Khan in Sikandar was earlier supposed to direct Khan in Kick (2014). However, the collaboration could not materialize due to A R Murugadoss’s commitment to other films. If Sikandar works and performs extraordinary, A R Murugadoss might direct Salman Khan again in Kick 2.

    Besides Sikandar, Kick 2, Salman Khan is also doing a big film with Jawan director Atlee. A sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is planned too. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) is Salman Khan’s best and highest-grossing film ever.

The trailer and songs of the movie have received positive feedback.

    The film has been made on a budget of 150 crores and the makers of the film have already recovered the budget through satellite, songs, and digital rights. The film is predicted to earn over 25+ crores on its opening day becoming a major commercial success. However, the film has to be good to receive positive and rave reviews. Remember, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is clashing with Singham Again which is a high-octane action film featuring several big movie superstars.

He is the leading man who directed the RS Universe and Golmaal film franchise. Although Rohit Shetty is the biggest nightmare of Indian film critics. The critics hate him and his style of filmmaking. His films often have unscientific, illogical, and nonsense stunt scenes. All of his films except Chennai Express have received mixed reviews. But he has received immense success through such films. He has delivered over ten consecutive major commercially successful films.

    Rohit Shetty has written, produced and directed films such as Singham, Golmaal, Singham Returns, Golmaal 3, Golmaal 4, Simmba and Sooryavanshi. His upcoming film is Singham Again which is slated to release on 1st November 2024.

    The Rohit Shetty Universe is one of the biggest and most successful film franchises. It all began in 2011 when Rohit Shetty directed Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham in the 2011 entertainer film Singham. Singham upon its release in 2011 received positive reviews and emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. Singham (Hindi) was a remake of a Tamil film of the same name. Singham in Tamil starred actor Suriya in the lead role.

    Rohit Shetty initially had no plans of directing this film. But after watching Wanted and Dabanng, Rohit Shetty decided to make this film with Ajay Devgn. The success and reception from the audience for Wanted and Dabangg inspired Rohit Shetty to go ahead with Singham.

    Featuring Salman Khan in the lead, Wanted and Dabangg were released in 2009 and 2010 to overwhelming response. Both the films received highly positive reviews whereas Salman Khan’s performance was highly hailed by the audience, especially his character of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. Wanted followed by Dabangg helped Salman Khan to attain superstardom.

    Rohit Shetty Universe

    Following the success of Singham (2011) and Singham Returns (2014), Rohit Shetty planned to introduce several new characters and shape his movie franchise.

    In 2018, Rohit Shetty introduced Ranveer Singh as the new character of his Universe. Ranveer Singh was featured in the movie Simmba which was an official remake of Jr NTR’s Telugu film Temper. Simmba received highly positive reviews and emerged as a blockbuster. In the post-credit scene of Simmba, director Rohit Shetty introduced another Bollywood superstar as the new character in his Universe. We all saw actor Akshay Kumar making a short appearance as Sooryavanshi in Simmba. Ajay Devgn too featured in a lengthy guest appearance as Singham in Simmba.

    Akshay Kumar led Sooryavanshi is the first film where Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar featured together in the climax. Sooryavanshi emerged as a blockbuster in 2021.

    Future of RS Universe

    The upcoming film from the Rohit Shetty Universe is Singham Again. Singham Again is one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the year. The film features as many as six major Hindi actors and two new entrants in the Universe.

    Actress Deepika Padukone and actor T Shroff are the two new  in the Universe.

    Deepika Padukone and T Shroff along with Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar make an extensive guest appearance in Singham Again.

    Singham Again is led by Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead with Dayanand Shetty of CID fame in a supporting role. The film is set to release during this weekend and is expected to emerge as a major commercial success. The film also stars Arjun Kapoor as the main antagonist.

    Also, one of India’s biggest superstars Salman Khan is confirmed to make a cameo appearance in the post-credit scenes of Singham Again. He will reprise the role of Chulbul Pandey.

    After Singham Again, Rohit Shetty will move to direct the fifth part of his much-loved comedy franchise Golmaal. Besides, Deepika Padukone and T Shroff will have their respective standalone films directed by Rohit Shetty.

    Dharma Productions is one of India’s and Bollywood’s major production houses. Dharma Productions has produced and delivered some of the most iconic Indian films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Dostana, My Name Is Khan, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Wake Up Sid, Raazi, Agneepath, Student of the Year, Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani, 2 States and many more. The Hindi production company was founded by Yash Johar and today it is led by his son Karan Johar and CEO Apoorva Mehta. Films such as Gehraiyaan, Jug Jug Jeeyo, Liger, Brahmastra, Selfiee, Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, Lakshya’s K, Yodha, Bad News, and Mr and Mrs Mahi.

    Karan Johar invested over 100 crores in the 2023 film ‘Selfie’ starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi. It was a box office flop on its opening day itself despite receiving encouraging reviews from critics.

    Karan Johar invested over 150 crores for the Pan-India film titled ‘Liger’. It starred Vijay Deverkonda and Ananya Pandey in the lead roles. The film was released in several languages such as Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Liger received negative reviews and emerged as a box office disaster.
