  • Varun Dhawan Signs One Of India’s Biggest Film

    Varun Dhawan is all set to feature alongside Sunny Deol in B2

    Popular young actor Varun Dhawan has just signed the biggest film of his film career and probably the biggest Indian drama film ever.

    B1 (1997) is an epic drama film. The film starred an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Rakhee Gulzar, Pooja Bhatt, Tabu, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry and Khulbushan Kharbanda among others. The film was helmed by J. P. Dutta who is highly known for directing epic drama films.

    B2 is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster film B1

    Released on 13 June 1997, B1 received positive reviews and widespread critical acclaim. It remained the most popular Indian film throughout the year and emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. It was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1997. Besides the film won several awards..

    Now, in 2024, the makers of B1 are planning the sequel of their blockbuster film. Sunny Deol will return to headline the project once again. And, this time, several young actors from the new generation have been approached for the lead characters of the movie. For the same, many young actors have been approached to join the cast. But a few actors are insecure about playing the second lead or an insignificant role.

    Varun Dhawan earlier in a social media post shared his excitement about joining the cast of B2.

    Alongside Varun Dhawan and Ayushmann Khurrana too has been approached. Several other young actors such as Ishaan Khatter, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Vikrant Massey have been approached by the casting team of B2. According to the sources, the film will be shot in Mumbai, Rajasthan, Kashmir, and Delhi. Many popular young actresses are expected to come on board for B2.

    The development of B2 began following the enormous success of Gadar 2. Sunny Deol was a popular star between 1990 – 2002. His drama films such as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), The Hero (2003), and B1 (1997) are some of the most treasured films. But the actor faced a downturn from 2004 – 2022 with continuous flops and disappointing films and barely a single or two hit films in 20 years.

    In 2023, Sunny Deol delivered the highest-grossing film of his career and one of the highest-grossing Hindi films ever. In 2023, Sunny Deol starred in Gadar 2, a sequel to his most loved film Gadar (2001). It’s been more than two decades and yet Gadar (2001) remains one of the most classic drama films. The success of Gadar 2 proved how big Gadar was in 1997 and how Indian audiences relate to this epic movie franchise. Released in 2023, Gadar 2 became one of the fewest Hindi films to enter the prestigious 500-crore club.

    Post Gadar 2, the makers of B1 began the planning of B1. And, no doubt, B2 can face the same triumph fortune of Gadar 2. The shooting of B2 commences in November 2024.

    Talking about B2, the film releases in 2026 while Sunny Deol has another big drama film set to release in 2025. He will star in Rajkumar Santoshi’s drama film 1947, another drama film.1947 will be produced by Aamir Khan and is set to release on Republic Day 2025.

    Besides Varun, the makers of B2 earlier signed Ayushmann Khurrana as one of the male leads in B2. Now the makers have also signed Varun Dhawan. But some reports also suggest that Ayushmann Khurrana has walked out of the project due to other film commitments and Varun Dhawan has replaced him. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. The makers are planning a big event in Mumbai where they will officially announce the film. All the cast members, crew, and the makers of B2 will be present at the event. No doubt, it is going to be the biggest drama film in India.

    Varun Dhawan is presently shooting for his upcoming mass-drama film titled ‘Baby John’. Baby John is produced by ‘Jawan’ (2023) director Atlee and is a remake of his 2016-directed Tamil film ‘Theri’ starring Vijay. Baby John is directed by Kalees and also stars Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, Sanya Malhotra, Rajpal Yadav Wamiqa Gabbi, Sheeba Chaddha besides Varun Dhawan. One of the biggest superstars of the country, Salman Khan is rumored to make a special appearance in the film.

    Baby John is scheduled to be released in Christmas 2024. Varun Dhawan will have another big release before it. His debut TV show/series for Amazon Prime Video will be released in October. He will star in Amazon Prime’s Citadel: Honey Bunny, a spin-off of the Hollywood show ‘Citadel’.     Aamir Khan’s last produced film Laapataa Ladies is one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. The film is directed and written by his ex-wife Kiran Rao. Laapataa Ladies was screened at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023. Laapataa Ladies was released in theatres on 1st March 2024 to positive reviews and achieved decent business at the box office. The film aired on Netflix on 26 April 2024 and received widespread critical acclaim and became one of the most watched Hindi films on Netflix.     Speaking about Aamir Khan, the actor is facing immense pressure to make a big comeback. He is one of the most celebrated actors of the Indian Cinema. The film starred an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dhairya Karwa, Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu among others. Upon its release 83 received widespread critical acclaim but the film underperformed at the box office which came as a huge shock for everyone.

    After 83, Ranveer Singh starred in two more commercial films which happened to be box office flops upon its release, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus.

    In 2023, Ranveer Singh managed to hit the box office with Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar’s directional ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani’. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shelved ‘Baiju Bawra’ for now and announced another big project with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.

    A few years ago, Ranveer and famous South director Shankar announced a film together. However, that film is also dropped due to creative differences.

    Ranveer Singh was announced to play the character of Shaktimaan in a Hindi superhero film. Shaktimaan was the most popular superhero TV Show played by Mukesh Khanna. A film on Shaktimaan was announced with Ranveer Singh but that film too has been shelved.

    Earlier the year director Prasanth Verma delivered a special film called HM. The Telugu superhero film received widespread critical acclaim and grossed over 350 crores globally becoming one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2024. Soon after HM, Prasanth Verma announced a collaboration with Ranveer Singh. But recently the news broke out that this film too has been shelved due to creative differences.

    Ranveer Singh has lost five to six films in the last six to eight months while D3 has generated a lot of hullabaloos for him.

    Following the mammoth success of Pathaan and Jawan, Shahrukh Khan has dropped the plans of doing D3 and is looking to do something fresh. While the makers of D3 signed Ranveer Singh to replace Shahrukh Khan and star as D in D3. This, of course, didn’t go well with the SRK fans who showed their disappointment and asked Ranveer Singh and director Farhan Akhtar to shelve D3. Ranveer can to do any film with Farhan Akhtar with another title but not D3. According to the reports, the makers of D3 are still muddled with the film. While some reports also suggest that Kiara Advani will be playing the female lead in D3.

    As of now, Ranveer Singh has no films in hand. Also, he has taken maternity leave as he and Deepika Padukone are expected to become parents soon. But the actor is planning a big comeback.

    Deepika Padukone made her film debut with a 2006 Kannada language film titled ‘Aishwarya’. The actress is originally from Bangalore.

Vishnu Vardhan who directed Shershaah for Karan Johar will be directed by Salman Khan in The Bull. The film is still in pre-production and is expected to release in 2026. Salman Khan and Karan Johar are set to collaborate for the first time for a big full-fledged film.

    After Sikander and The B, Salman Khan is rumored to collaborate with Kabir Khan for an film.     Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023)

    As weird as it sounds, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is probably the worst film of the year. Shockingly, a Superstar like Salman Khan had settled into this kind of film and he released it self-assuredly. After delivering numerous blockbusters and playing larger-than-life characters, audiences are disappointed to see Salman Khan doing such mediocre films as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Dabangg 3, and Radhe.

    However, FTR (2024) is a modern-day Gadar 2 kind of movie. The aerial graphics and scenes are pleasing. But again, the dialogues, screenplay, and fallacious story make it an exhausting watch.

    Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024)

    Although the makers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan tried hard to present a modern-day scientific film they lacked a convincing influence with the story. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was indeed one of the most awaited films of the year. It had Akshay Kumar and T Shroff together in the lead.

    The film was helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, popularly known for directing Salman Khan in Sultan, TZH, and Bharat. But nothing worked for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The dialogues were cringe. The story got absurd as the film progressed. It is still a one-time watch.

    Tejas (2023)

    Tejas is another typical and poor film. Opened to highly negative reviews, Tejas was declared a big box office flop on the first day of its release. Reportedly made on a budget of 70 crores, Tejas even failed to collect 10 crores at the box office.

    Ganapath (2023)

    Ganapth starring T Shroff, Kriti Sanon, Amitabh Bachchan, and Elli Avram received highly negative reviews and was declared a box-office flop on its first day of release. Critics highly criticized T Shroff for not refining his acting skills and repeating his unnecessary stunts in every film. Reportedly the film was made on a budget of 200 crores and did not even collect 20 crores at the box office.

    Here is another remake film that failed at the box office. Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead is an official remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
