Post the COVID pandemic, 2022 and 2023 have been great for the entire Indian Film Industry which includes Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam Film Industry.

The Indian Film Industry has delivered some of the biggest hits of all time and many critically acclaimed films in the past two years.

But it doesn’t end here, as we have listed the eight most awaited Indian films announced by some of the biggest film stars of India.

Sikandar – Salman Khan

Sikandar is one of the most awaited films of 2025. It is an important film for Salman Khan who has to endure his influence in India as one of the biggest actors in the country.

The last several films of Salman Khan have disappointed his millions of fans all around the world. Though the films have been profitable for the makers but the films have underachieved numbers on the box office front. Salman Khan has certainly realized his mistake of doing mediocre action films and now is looking to sign some massive large-scale action films shot in European countries. Recently, he announced his next film titled Sikandar which is slated to release in June 2025.

He has collaborated with his old friend and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Popular Indian filmmaker from the south film Industry, Mr. A.R Murugadoss has come on board to direct this action thriller. The film is currently under production. The actor recently shared a small glimpse of his upcoming film.

Singham Again – Ajay Devgn

One of the most awaited films of the year, Singham Again is set to release soon. The Rohit Shetty directional is the fifth film from the Cop Universe. Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn released the first part of Singham in 2011 and the second part in 2014.

Now, the popular actor-director duo is returning once again with this massive film of this massive film franchise. The release date of Singham Again is not yet finalized. But the film is already announced to release during the Diwali festival.

Diwali is the biggest Hindu festival celebrated all around the world. After celebrating the festival, Indians all around the world look to celebrate the Diwali holidays by watching movies and spending some family time. Singham Again is a massive entertainer and the best film to watch in theatres during Diwali. Singham Again was earlier scheduled to release on August 15 (Indian Independence Day) but the film got postponed due to post-production work.

King – Shahrukh Khan

SRK’s King is one of the most awaited films of 2025.

King will be directed by popular filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, known for directing edge-of-the-seat thriller movies. Talking about SRK, what can we say about this man? He has stunned and flabbergasted everyone with his comeback. Just a few years ago, he was alleged to be finished. He was asked to take retirement from films. Now after two massive hit films in 2023, Shahrukh Khan has announced his next film titled King.

The film is currently under production. It will be jointly co-produced by Shahrukh Khan and popular Indian filmmaker Siddharth Anand. King is a special film for Shahrukh Khan and his family. It is the debut movie of Suhana Khan, Shahrukh Khan’s daughter. Earlier Shahrukh Khan was set to make a special appearance in the film. But now he has come on board for an extensive action role. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan as the main antagonist.

War 2 – Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR

Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 is the biggest and most awaited film of 2025. Several well-known film critics have predicted War 2 to emerge as the highest-grossing film of 2025.

It is the sixth film installment from the YRF Spy Universe. The YRF Spy Universe is one of the biggest film franchises in India. The first part of War was released in 2019 and happened to be the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2019. Now the second part is set to release on August 15, 2025, during the Independence Day of India. Besides Hrithik Roshan, one of the main reasons to watch War 2 is Jr. NTR.

One of the biggest superstars of the country and the most popular actor from the Telugu Film Industry, JR. NTR is making his Hindi film debut with War 2. He will play the role of the main antagonist. The film is currently under production in Europe. Talented young filmmaker Ayan Mukerji is directing War 2. The film also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead.

Kalki 2898 AD – Prabhas

With a budget of over 600+ crores, Kalki 2898 AD is the most expensive Indian film ever. The film stars an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, and Disha Patani among others. It is the first part of the Kalki Cinematic Universe. It is a scientific-action film based on Hindu mythology. The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Amongst the most awaited films of 2024, Kalki 2898 AD is slated to release on 27 June.

Pushpa 2 – Allu Arjun

Upon its release, Pushpa 2 could emerge as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. It is the most awaited film of the year. A sequel to Pushpa: The Rise (Pushpa 1), Pushpa: The Rule (Pushpa 2) is set to release in December 2024. It is a sequel to Pushpa (2022) which was released after the COVID pandemic and caused havoc in India.

The film starred Allu Arjun in the title role. The actor was bestowed with the National Film Award for Best Actor at the National Awards 2023. Fahad Fassil who is highly considered as one of India’s finest actors played a brief role in the film. But he is set to reprise his role to an extent in the second part. Gamechanger – Ram Charan

The Telugu Film Industry is shining like never before. Gamechanger is another most awaited Telugu films of 2024. It is the first major release of Ram Charan following the widespread popularity of his last film RRR. Ram Charan has emerged as one of the biggest Indian movie stars in the US, Canada, and Japan post the global success of RRR.

Gamechanger is a political drama action film directed by influential filmmaker S. Shankar. The film stars Ram Charan in a dual role as Ram Nandan, an IAS officer, and his father. The film also stars Kiara Advani as Ram Nandan’s love interest. Besides, Hyderabad and Mumbai, Gamechanger is shot in New Zealand as well. The film is slated to release in November 2024.

Devara: Part 1

After Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa 2, and Gamechanger, Devara: Part 1 is the fourth and final Telugu release of 2024. This Jr. NTR’s film is a periodic action film. Besides Ram Charan, Jr NTR is another Telugu actor who has received global fame and love following the widespread success of RRR. While his diehard Telugu fans are looking forward to his upcoming film but even the north audience from Mumbai and Delhi side have shown massive interest in the film.

Devara: Part 1 is planned to be released on 10 October 2024. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as the main antagonist and Jhanvi Kapoor as the female lead. It is the first part of the two-part film directed by Koratala Siva. It is the second collaboration with Jr NTR and Koratala Siva post Janatha Garage.
