Kartik Aaryan replaced Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa film franchise is today one of Bollywood’s most successful horror comedy film franchises. The first part of the film was released back in 2007. T Series owner Bhushan Kumar who produced Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1 in 2007 owned the rights of the film. In 2022, he released the second part of the franchise with a new cast and new crew. Now the third part of the horror comedy film franchise is set to release on 1st December 2024 during the Indian festival Diwali.
Popular young actor Kartik Aaryan replaced actor Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Whereas director Aneez Bazmee replaced director Priyadarshan to helm the second part of the franchise. Several fans of Akshay Kumar criticized this move of producer Bhushan Kumar to replace Akshay Kumar with Kartik Aaryan. The makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Kartik Aaryan received hate on social media platforms.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released in 2022 following the pandemic. The film received mixed to positive reviews and emerged as a major commercial success by earning over 200+ crores. The film happened to be a big lottery for its makers and cast. The film also starred Kiara Advani and Tabu besides Kartik Aaryan. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Kartik Aaryan who received criticism for replacing Akshay Kumar had impressed everyone with his comic charm. He was called as the true successor of Akshay Kumar to take this horror comedy film forward.
Now with the third part of the horror comedy franchise releasing soon, once again the debate of Kartik’s comparison with Akshay has begun.
During a media interaction, while promoting Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik Aaryan was asked about his comparison with Akshay Kumar. The actor said that he feels weird and nervous when fans compare him with Akshay Kumar. The actor added that he is nothing in front of Akshay Kumar. The actor said that he has grown up watching films of Akshay Kumar and there is no comparison with him as he is very senior to him and he respected him a lot. Kartik also shared his wish to work in a comedy film with Akshay Kumar.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is one of the biggest Hindi releases of 2024. Despite the clash with Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is predicted to earn over 200 crores in Hindi. The film stars Kartik Aaryan, Tripti Dimri, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Sanjay Mishra, Rajesh Sharma and Manish Wadhwa among others. The trailer and songs of the movie have received positive feedback.
The film has been made on a budget of 150 crores and the makers of the film have already recovered the budget through satellite, songs, and digital rights. The film is predicted to earn over 25+ crores on its opening day becoming a major commercial success. However, the film has to be good to receive positive and rave reviews. Remember, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is clashing with Singham Again which is a high-octane action film featuring several big movie superstars.
