After Deepika & Alia, Kiara Advani is stepping up the ladder to become the No.1 Actress
Two of the biggest actresses in India, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt have been enjoying gigantic success for the past few years. Deepika recently had a couple of big releases such as Kalki 2898 AD, Pathaan, Fighter, and Jawan. All films have had registered good business at the box office. Though Deepika Padukone is pregnant and going to take a long leave, she has a solid film lineup to follow with a cop film with Rohit Shetty and Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. Whereas Alia had some major hits like RRR, Brahmastra, Gangubai Kathaiwadi, and Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani in the past few years. Alia too has a brilliant film lineup to follow with Jigra, Alpha, and Love and War.
Besides, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, there is only one Bollywood actress Kiara Advani who has a promising film lineup to follow.
Kiara Advani made her film debut in 2014 film Fugly. While her debut film failed to give her any recognition, it was her second film released in 2016 that provided her extensive popularity. In 2016, she was featured as the wife of MS Dhoni in his biographical film titled MS Dhoni The Untold Story. The film was a major commercial success. Post the success of MS Dhoni’s The Untold Story, Kiara was signed opposite Mahesh Babu in the Telugu hit drama film Bharat Ane Nenu.
In 2019, Kiara Advani tasted her career’s biggest success by featuring opposite Shahid Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh opened to a blockbuster response and is one of the highest-grossing films of 2019. It is still the highest-grossing film for Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani as well. In the same year, Kiara Advani had another big release ‘Good News’ that became a blockbuster at the box office. The comedy-drama film starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh. In between she featured in Karan Johar’s two Netflix films, Guilty and Lust Stories.
Post the COVID pandemic and lockdown, two films by Kiara Advani were released digitally on internet streaming platforms. Her first digital release was the film Laxmii opposite Akshay Kumar. Laxmii is directed by Raghava Lawrence and is an official remake of his own 2011 Tamil film Kanchana. The film received highly negative reviews and failed to generate any hype. The film was originally meant to be released in theatres but opted for the digital route due to the COVID pandemic lockdown.
Kiara Advani’s second digital release ‘Sheershah’ received widespread critical acclaim and was one of the most talked about films of 2021. The film starred Kiara Advani opposite her husband Sidharth Malhotra. It was directed by Vishnu Vardhan and produced by Karan Johar. Sheershah is a biographical army war film based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra who was killed in action in the Kargil War. The film received critical acclaim for its direction, script, performance, action, and editing. It is still the best Indian film that was released digitally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan featured in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. While most of the Hindi films were flopping in 2021 – 2022, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became the biggest hit post the COVID pandemic and is one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. The film managed to gross over 250 crores globally becoming a blockbuster. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was directed by Aneez Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar. In the same year, Kiara Advani featured opposite Varun Dhawan in a romantic drama film titled Jugjugg Jeeyo. The film also starred Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. the film received a positive response and managed to perform well at the box office.
Kiara Advani’s last release came in 2023 opposite Kartik Aaryan. The film is titled Sathyaprem Ki Katha is directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film received positive reviews and performed well at the box office.
Kiara Advani’s next and only release of 2024 is a film titled ‘Gamechanger’. The film stars Ram Charan in the main lead. Gamechanger is Ram Charan’s next film following the widespread and international success of his last film RRR. Post RRR, Ram Charan has become an international star with fans from all over the world. So, the expectations are sky high from Gamechanger. The film is directed by noted filmmaker Shankar. Gamechanger is expected to become one of the highest-grossing Telugu films ever.
After Gamechanger, Kiara Advani will be seen next as the female lead in Ayan Mukerji’s War 2. War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead with Jr NTR as the main antagonist in his Hindi debut film. War 2 is one of the biggest releases of 2025. It is the sequel of War (2019) and a part of the YRF Spy Universe. YRF Spy Universe includes films like Ek Tha Tiger, Pathaan, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3, and War.
Kiara Advani has also been signed to feature as the female lead in Don 3. Shahrukh Khan who has walked out of Don 3 is now being replaced by Ranveer Singh. Ranveer Singh is the new Don and he plays the main lead in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 with Kiara Advani in the female lead. However, the film has generated negativity with fans being disappointed in Ranveer Singh replacing Shahrukh Khan as Don.
Besides War 2 and Don 3, Kiara Advani is all set to play the female lead in Yash’s upcoming film. Yash is presently shooting for a film titled ‘Toxic’. It is his next film following the mammoth success and widespread popularity of KGF Part 1 and KGF Part 2. While Toxic stars Yash as the male lead, the film has quite a few actresses as the female lead. Besides Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Shruti Hassan, and Tara Sutaria are confirmed to feature in the film.
With big films like Gamechanger, War 2, Don 3, and Toxic, Kiara Advani surely has a big and promising film lineup. She is only next to Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt in the best film lineup.
