OTT giants like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Hotstar have witnessed massive success with their critically acclaimed and blockbuster shows like Mirzapur Series, Panchayat Series, Sacred Games, Delhi Crime, Special Ops, and Family Man Series.
Amazon Prime Video recently announced more than 70+ web series and movies that will be released in 2024 and 2025. Whereas Netflix and Hotstar have plenty of shows scheduled to release in 2024 and 2025.
Panchayat Season 3
Panchayat is simply the most loved comedy and heartful TV Show based in India. Created by The Viral Fever for Amazon Prime Video, it stars Jitender Kumar as an engineer who joins as a secretary at a Panchayat office in a local village. The show features Neena Gupta as the leader of the village and Raghubir Yadav as her husband. Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy star as other members of the Panchayat office.
Panchayat Season One has received widespread popularity for its simple storyline, screenplay, emotion, and comedy. The second season too received overwhelming responses from the viewers. The third season of Panchayat is set to release on May 28, 2024. It is the most critically acclaimed TV show in India.
Mirzapur Season 3
The Mirzapur Series is not an easy TV Show. This show is strictly adult-rated. It is one of the most enjoyed crime thriller TV Shows in India and amongst the most successful TV shows which has received positive responses from critics. But the show has also engrossed debate for its extensive display of crime, murder, and abusive language.
Overall, the viewers have enjoyed the show and the banter between its lead cast. The first season opened to an overwhelming response while the second season was one of the most-watched TV Shows in India. The series is returning with a third season that is slated to release in 2024. With actor Divyendu not reprising his role of Munna Bhai, Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen and Ali Faizal as Guddu Bhai are returning.
The Family Man Season 3

The Family Man is a serious spy thriller but also arrives with hilarious banter, crises, and daily arguments that take place in a typical middle-class Indian family. The Family Man has also fascinated the global audience, especially from the US who have appreciated both of the seasons.
The show stars prominent Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee as a Special Agent investigating terror links. The show also shows the real side of Manoj Bajpayee who is a middle-class man stuck with his own personal and family problems. The show also stars Priyamani and Sharib Hashmi. The shooting for The Family Man season 3 is yet to begin. The show is confirmed to be released somewhere in 2025. The lead cast will reprise their role. The second season ended with the presentation of the COVID pandemic and a new enemy of India.
Paatal Lok Season 2
Unlike Panchayat, Mirzapur and Family Man, Paatal Lok hasn’t featured in more than one season. But it is still one of the most loved shows in India and for Amazon Prime Video. It is a crime thriller produced by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s production company Clean Slate Films. The first season was released during the Covid pandemic in India.
Paatal Lok opened to rave reviews from the audience and received critical acclaim. The show was immediately renewed for a second season in 2021. Amazon Prime has confirmed the second season to be released in early 2025. Jaideep Ahlawat and Ishwak Singh will reprise their role once again with an additional new cast.
Special Ops Season 2
Released just before the COVID pandemic, Hotstar’s Special Ops had opened to overwhelming response and big numbers as the audience got plenty of time during the lockdown to watch such a great show. Neeraj Pandey’s thriller show was originally planned as a TV Show in 2010. He later re-energized the project and shot in many locations such as UAE, India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Jordan.
Starring Kay Kay Menon, Karan Tacker, and Sajjad Delafrooz in leads Special Ops Season 1 was a massive hit and was renewed for another season. Surprisingly a mini-series titled Special Ops Season 1.5 was released in 2021 which was a decent hit. However, the viewers are now looking forward to the second season that is slated to release in 2024.
Bandish Bandits Season 2
Amazon Prime Video’s much-loved musical romantic drama Bandish Bandits is due for another season. The show starring Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhary was released in 2020 with ten episodes. Bandish Bandits was another big success for Amazon Prime Video during the COVID lockdown. The series helmed by Anand Tiwari is due for its second season and is slated to release soon.
Citadel: Honey Bunny
American spy thriller series Citadel which was created by Josh Appelbaum and produced by the Russo Brothers has an Indian version spin-off titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. While Citadel stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra as spy agents, the Indian version stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the spy agents.
It also stars Kay Kay Menon and Saqib Saleem in key roles. The Indian version is helmed by Raj & DK who are known for creating several iconic OTT shows like the Family Man series, Guns & Gulaabs, and Farzi. Citadel: Honey Bunny is slated to release soon.
Criminal Justice Season 4
Hotstar’s Criminal Justice series is now one of the most popular OTT series in India with over three successful seasons. The fourth season is slated to release soon. It starred Pankaj Tripathi as a common honest lawyer in all the seasons and he is set to reprise his role in the fourth season as well.
Delhi Crime Season 3
Netflix’s Delhi Crime Season 1 won the Best Drama Series award at the International Emmy Awards. Released in March 2019, Delhi Crime Season 1 was based on the 2012 Delhi case. The second season was released in 2022 based on a real-life event of robbery and murder attacks on senior citizens of Delhi. The series is due for a third season. Delhi Crime originally stars Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi IPS, Rajesh Tailang as Inspector Bhupendra Singh, Rasika Dugal as IPS Neeti Singh, and Adil Hussain as Kumar Hussain CP.
