    Two of the biggest actresses in India, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt have been enjoying gigantic success for the past few years. Deepika recently had a couple of big releases such as Kalki 2898 AD, Pathaan, FR, and Jawan. All films have had registered good business at the box office. Though Deepika Padukone is pregnant and going to take a long leave, she has a solid film lineup to follow with a film with Rohit Shetty and Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. Whereas Alia had some major hits like RRR, Brahmastra, Gangubai Kathaiwadi, and Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani in the past few years.     Kiara Advani made her film debut in 2014 film Fugly. While her debut film failed to give her any recognition, it was her second film released in 2016 that provided her extensive popularity. In 2016, she was featured as the wife of MS Dhoni in his biographical film titled MS Dhoni The Untold Story. The film was a major commercial success. Post the success of MS Dhoni’s The Untold Story, Kiara was signed opposite Mahesh Babu in the Telugu hit drama film Bharat Ane Nenu.

    Ajay Devgn had a good decade from 2010 to 2024. He delivered numerous blockbuster and iconic films such as Singham, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Golmaal 3, Raajneeti, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Rascals, Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardaar, Singham Returns, Drishyam, Shivaay, Baadshaho, Golmaal Again, Raid, Total Dhamaal, De De Pyaar De, Tanhaji, Runway 34, Drishyam 2, Bholaa, Shaitaan and Maidaan.

The film was finally released in 2024 but underperformed at the box office despite receiving positive reviews. He has been privileged to work with big directors early in his movie career. But the past few months have been worrying for him. He has lost several films in the past few months.

    Ranveer Singh Bhavnani professionally known as Ranveer Singh comes from a filmy background. His parents are not exactly from the film industry. But he has quite a few families interrelated to the Bollywood industry.

    In 2010, YRF Head Aditya Chopra was awe-struck watching Ranveer Singh’s audition footage and immediately signed him in director Maneesh Sharma’s directional ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ opposite Anushka Sharma. The film became a commercial success at the box office and Ranveer Singh was awarded the Filmfare Award for the best debut male.

    Following the popularity of Ranveer and Anushka, YRF head and producer Aditya Chopra produced another movie with Ranveer and Anushka in the lead and Maneesh Sharma as the director. The film was titled ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ and the film performed well at the box office. Both the films ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ happened to be a breakthrough project for Ranveer Singh and as well as Anushka Sharma.

    Ranveer Singh has consistently managed to grab the eyeballs and stay in the headlines due to his unique flamboyant fashion sense and his relationship with then girlfriend now wife Deepika Padukone.

    In 2013, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of the most admired filmmakers in India signed Ranveer Singh opposite Deepika Padukone in a romantic tragedy movie titled ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’.     One of the most important films in Ranveer Singh’s career was 83 which was supposed to emerge a major success for its makers. 83 (2021) is a biographical film about the Indian Cricket Team led by Kapil Dev which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup as underdogs. The film was written and directed by Kabir Khan. The film starred an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dhairya Karwa, Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu among others. Upon its release 83 received widespread critical acclaim but the film underperformed at the box office which came as a huge shock for everyone.

    After 83, Ranveer Singh starred in two more commercial films which happened to be box office flops upon its release, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus.

    In 2023, Ranveer Singh managed to hit the box office with Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar’s directional ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani’. The romantic comedy-drama film also starred Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Aamir Bashir, Churni Ganguly, and Tota Roy Chaudhary among others. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani was one of the most hyped films of the year because of its songs and amusing trailer. The film received positive reviews and performed well at the box office.

    Ranveer Singh has no release in 2024 besides doing a guest appearance in Singham Again. A few of his recently signed films have been shelved whereas he was heavily criticized for replacing Shahrukh Khan in D3.

    Ranveer was supposed to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for another periodic drama film titled ‘Baiju Bawra’ following their successful collaboration in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shelved ‘Baiju Bawra’ for now and announced another big project with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.

    A few years ago, Ranveer and famous South director Shankar announced a film together. However, that film is also dropped due to creative differences.

    Ranveer Singh was announced to play the character of Shaktimaan in a Hindi superhero film. Shaktimaan was the most popular superhero TV Show played by Mukesh Khanna. A film on Shaktimaan was announced with Ranveer Singh but that film too has been shelved.

    Earlier the year director Prasanth Verma delivered a special film called HM. The Telugu superhero film received widespread critical acclaim and grossed over 350 crores globally becoming one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2024. Soon after HM, Prasanth Verma announced a collaboration with Ranveer Singh. But recently the news broke out that this film too has been shelved due to creative differences.

    Ranveer Singh has lost five to six films in the last six to eight months while D3 has generated a lot of hullabaloos for him.

    Following the mammoth success of Pathaan and Jawan, Shahrukh Khan has dropped the plans of doing D3 and is looking to do something fresh. While the makers of D3 signed Ranveer Singh to replace Shahrukh Khan and star as D in D3. This, of course, didn’t go well with the SRK fans who showed their disappointment and asked Ranveer Singh and director Farhan Akhtar to shelve D3. Ranveer can to do any film with Farhan Akhtar with another title but not D3. According to the reports, the makers of D3 are still muddled with the film. While some reports also suggest that Kiara Advani will be playing the female lead in D3.

    As of now, Ranveer Singh has no films in hand. Also, he has taken maternity leave as he and Deepika Padukone are expected to become parents soon. But the actor is planning a big comeback.

The film also starred Janhvi Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, and Anjuman Saxena. Nitesh Tiwari earlier directed Aamir Khan’s widespread critically acclaimed movie ‘Dangal’ and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput starred and the National Award Winning Film ‘Chhichhore’.     Varun Dhawan starred and released two of his most important films in 2022 and fortunately, both of his films managed to perform well at the box office and entertain the audience.

    His first release of 2022 was a comedy-drama film titled ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Jugjugg Jeeyo was released on 24 June 2022 with mixed to positive reviews with critics praising the story, direction, screenplay, and performance of the cast. Jugjugg Jeeyo performed amazingly well at the box office. The film starred an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Manish Paul, Tisca Chopra, and Prajakta Kohli.

    Varun’s second release of 2022 was a horror comedy movie titled ‘Bhediya’ produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Amar Kaushik. Amar Kaushik earlier directed Stree (2018) for Dinesh Vijan’s production house Maddock Films. Bhediya is part of Maddock Film’s Maddock Supernational Universe, a film franchise with comedy and horror movies. Films under the Maddock Supernational Universe are Stree (2018), Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024) and the upcoming Stree 2 (2024). Bhediya was released on 25 November 2022 to positive reviews and was highly hailed for the performance by Varun Dhawan, Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee, and Paalin Kabak. The film also starred Kriti Sanon as the female lead. The film was also praised for its VFX, screenplay, story, and graphics.

    Varun Dhawan’s next and upcoming release is an drama film titled ‘Baby John’. The film is an official adaption of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil blockbuster film Theri which starred Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Atlee is one of the co-producers of the film besides Jyoti Deshpande and Murad Khetani. Today, Atlee is the most demanded and popular director in the country post the mammoth success of his previous direction ‘Jawan’ which starred Shahrukh Khan in the lead. The expectations are sky high from Baby John and Varun Dhawan. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Malhotra, Rajpal Yadav, and Sheeba Chaddha. Baby John is a nonsense drama and massy film which is going to present Varun Dhawan in a never seen before avatar. The film is set for a theatrical release on 25 December 2024 during Christmas. Baby John is directed by Kalees.

    The actor and his wife Natasha Dalal were recently blessed with a baby girl on 3rd July 2024.

    Besides Boby John, Varun Dhawan has another big and one of the most important projects of his film career releasing in 2024. It’s a web series that is set to release on Amazon Prime Video. Varun Dhawan with Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead is all set to star in a spin-off of the American TV series Citadel (2023) which starred Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra and the Russo Brothers as the executive producers. Citadel: Honey Bunny (2024) Hindi is directed by the king of OTT’s brother duo Raj & DK. Raj & DK are the directors of some of the most amazing shows made in India such as The Family Man, Farzi, and G and Gulbaabs. Citadel (Hindi) is set to be out in 2024 or early 2025. Besides, Varun and Samnatha, the series also stars Sikander Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, and Emma Canning.

    Post Baby John and Citadel: Hunny Bunny, Varun Dhawan will begin the shooting for Karan Johar’s upcoming comedy romantic film titled ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is directed and written by Shashank Khaitan and also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf besides Varun. The film is set to release in 2025. Shashank Khaitan earlier directed Varun Dhawan in Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Janhvi Kapoor in her Bollywood debut film ‘Dhadak’.

    The first part of D known as D1 was released in 2006 with Shahrukh Khan as the D. D1 (2006) was an official remake of a 1978 Hindi film with the same title that starred Amitabh Bachchan as D. In 2006 Farhan Akhtar released his directional D1 with Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. D1 (2006) was a blockbuster and received positive reviews.

    In 2011 the second part of D known as D2 was released with Shahrukh Khan reprising his role. The second part was too well received by the audience and the movie did pretty good business at the box office.

    In August 2023 Farhan Akhtar announced the third instalment of the series as D3. However, Shahrukh Khan refused to do the film, and Ranveer Singh was announced as the new D who will be succeeding Shahrukh Khan as D. Post the mammoth success of Pathaan and Jawan, SRK is looking for something big and fresh.

    The fans of SRK and the Indian audience felt that there was no need to bring the third part and that the makers should end the D series with D2 itself. Many people on social media expressed their disappointment with Ranveer replacing Shahrukh Khan in D. Though Ranveer in an interview promised to meet the expectations of fans as D.

    D3 is strictly a no from the audience. Though makers can continue their collaboration with Ranveer Singh and do the same film with a different title but not D3.

    There is no doubt that Dabangg is one of Salman Khan’s most iconic characters. But the first part of the Dabangg series was released back in 2010. And it had opened to widespread popularity and remarkable success. Dabangg became one of the most iconic film characters in India.

    But audiences no longer desire to watch such mediocre films. The second part of Dabangg was released in 2012, again to positive reviews, and performed well at the box office.

    But the third part of Dabangg which was released in 2019 received mixed reviews and performed decent at the box office. Dabangg 3 came after Salman Khan gave some major blockbuster hits like TZH, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Sultan. Salman Khan is among the biggest stars in the country. The audience no longer wants to see him doing such mediocre acting films. Even his last few mediocre films such as Radhe and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan received poor responses.

    Even Salman Khan is keen to do high-budget films that are shot in foreign areas. He is working with big directors and has signed a couple of big films such as A.R Murugadoss’s Next, Atlee’s Next, and Vishnu Vardhan’s Next. He has been signed by big production houses.

    There is no need for another sequel to Dabangg nor do the fans of Salman Khan want him to do another Dabangg film. But the Dabangg series is preserved by Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan so Salman might do Dabangg 4 for his brother.

    Munna Bhai (Hindi)

    Rajkumar Hirani is one of the best and biggest directors in the country. His debut directional Munna Bhai M.B.B.S released in 2003 had opened to international critical acclaim and widespread popularity. The film received an overwhelming response from the audience and performed extremely well at the box office. The film won several awards to its makers and star cast.

    A sequel of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S titled Lage Rahe Munna Bhai was released in 2006 again to widespread critical acclaim and performed well at the box office. The film series mainly stars Sanjay Dutt as a local man and Arshad Warsi as his partner.

    There is no doubt Munna Bhai is still a popular character among the Indian audience. But it is too late to make Munna Bhai 3 since the last part was released in 2006 and today it is 2024. The audience won’t be able to relate to the film anymore. It’s been nearly two decades.

    But surely director Rajkumar Hirani should collaborate with Sanjay Dutt for another such comedy film with a new star cast and a fresh story. Rajkumar Hirani is known for directing some iconic and classic films such as 3 Idiots, PK, and Dunki. He has yet to taste a flop in his film career. All of his directed films are hit or blockbusters. He is highly regarded for writing, producing, and directing films with fresh and rare stories. Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt are two of his favorite actors with whom he often collaborates.

    GOW (Hindi)

    The GOW film franchise is highly regarded as one of the greatest film series ever made in India. The film series received a cult following over the years and became highly popular all over the world. Part 1 and Part 2 of GOW are among the greatest movies of the 21st century. GOW was originally made as a five-hour-long movie. But no filmmaker in this world would dare to release such a lengthy film. So, the film was converted into two parts. The first part was released on 22 June 2012 while the second part of released on 8 August 2012, just a month and a half later.

    Even after a decade, GOW is still a popular film franchise. But certainly, there is no Part 3 coming nor the makers are interested in making another sequel. GOW is a classic and the second part ended in a perfect role.
