    YRF’s Dhoom is a popular film franchise

    Yash Raj Films (YRF) is the biggest production house in India. It is a film distribution, production, and direction production company run by Aditya Chopra, the chairman of the company. YRF owns two of the biggest movie franchises in India, the YRF Universe and YRF Dhoom Franchise. We have been getting films from the YRF Universe frequently now. But it has been more than a decade since a film from the Dhoom franchise was released. The last film ‘Dhoom 3’ came in 2013 and now we are almost entering in 2025 with a major update on Dhoom 4.

    YRF Universe is the most popular and most successful film franchise in India starring superstars like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

    No doubt, YRF Universe is getting huge love from fans. But what about the Dhoom franchise?

    Dhoom 4

    We are getting Dhoom 4. Yes! To the fans of this popular franchise, Dhoom 4 is coming soon.

    Dhoom was released in 2004, Dhoom 2 in 2006, and Dhoom 3 in 2013.

    Now after almost a decade, YRF has confirmed that Dhoom 4 is in the making. Dhoom 4 will have a completely new cast. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra who were part of all Dhoom films won’t be part of Dhoom 4. Dhoom 4 will have a new director and a new creative, and stunt team now.

    The first Dhoom film was released in 2004 with John Abraham playing the main antagonist. Hrithik Roshan essayed the role of the main antagonist in Dhoom 2 where Aamir Khan played the main antagonist in Dhoom 3. Among all Dhoom films, Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 is the highest-grossing film from the franchise despite receiving mixed reviews.

    Now the big question is, who will be playing the main lead in Dhoom 4?

    Ranbir Kapoor, the newest superstar in town has been signed to play the main lead in Dhoom 4.

    YRF and Ranbir Kapoor collaborated on a film titled ‘Shamshera’ which was a huge box office flop. But, following the massive success of ‘Animal’, Ranbir Kapoor has emerged as one of the biggest superstars of India. Animal has proved to be a career-changing film for him. Post Animal, Ranbir Kapoor has signed four to five big-budget Pan India films including Dhoom 4. On Ranbir Kapoor’s 42nd birthday this year, the YRF production house broke the sensational news of Ranbir singing the Dhoom 4 film.

    Despite Animal receiving mixed reviews, it grossed over 900 crores globally. Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in Animal is labeled as one of the greatest performances in the history of Indian Cinema.

    Currently, Dhoom 4 is in the pre-production stage and the shooting for the same will take several months to begin.

    YRF is presently busing working on two upcoming films ‘W2’ and ‘Alpha’. Both are scheduled to release in 2025 which means the shooting of Dhoom 4 will only begin in January 2026. Alpha stars Ranbir Kapoor’s wife Alia Bhatt in the first female led film of YRF Universe.

    Ranbir Kapoor’s best friend Ayan Mukerji might direct Dhoom 4

    Ayan Mukerji is a popular young director. He has directed films like ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmashtra’. He is presently directing Hritik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘W2’. If ‘W2’ turns out to be a phenomenal movie and a big success, Ayan Mukerji will surely come on board to direct Dhoom 4.

    As of now, Ranbir Kapoor is shooting for films like ‘L and W’ and ‘RMY’. He will also reprise his role in Animal’s sequel movie titled ‘Animal Park’.

    Earlier Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were the frontrunners for Dhoom 4. But they are already doing other films for YRF. Also, Ranbir Kapoor’s fan following and brand value have taken a major elevation. He is the most demanded and most loved actor presently. He is the perfect choice for Dhoom 4.

    Besides Ranbir Kapoor, YRF is keen to bring in a few other big Bollywood actors to essay the role and other important characters. Actresses Shraddha Kapoor and Kiara Advani are discussed to come on board to play the female lead.

    Dhoom is one of the most successful Indian film franchises

    Yash Raj Films (YRF) is one of India’s biggest movie production houses based in Mumbai. The YRF head Aditya Chopra enjoys two massive film franchises ‘Dhoom and YRF Universe’ under his production banner. We have seen YRF going all out with their YRF Universe by bringing films like Pathaan, W1, TZH, and T3 in recent times and a few more films that are under production. But the YRF team is quite slow on taking the Dhoom franchise onward. The last and third part of Dhoom came back in 2013.

    The first part of Dhoom was released in 2004 with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra as and John Abraham as the main antagonist. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Dhoom ended up on the winning side by becoming one of the major hits of 2004.

    The second part of Dhoom titled ‘Dhoom 2’ was released in 2006 with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles and Hrithik Roshan as the new main antagonist. Dhoom 2 met the expectations and became one of the highest-grossing films of all time in 2006 and broke several box office records.

    The third part of Dhoom titled ‘Dhoom 3’ was released in 2013 again with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra and legendary actor Aamir Khan in a dual role as the main antagonist. Dhoom 3 received widespread popularity. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film grossed over 400 crores in just ten days becoming a major commercial success.

    With John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan already featured in the Dhoom series we only see these three Bollywood actors who can do justice and might feature in Dhoom 4. However, Dhoom 4 is not been officially announced yet. But it will surely happen in the future.

    Ranbir Kapoor

    Ranbir Kapoor is presently the most popular actor in India. The actor has received a cult following and his film career has taken a giant step frontward post the success of his last film Animal (2023). He is already giving tough competition to some of the biggest superstars of the country, Prabhas, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Aamir Khan. Ranbir Kapoor has quite a few big releases under production. He is presently shooting for ‘Dangal’ director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming ‘RMY’ along with actress Sai Pallavi and actor Yash. The film is made on a whopping budget of 800+ crores with the first part of a movie set to release between 2025 – 2026. After wrapping up RMY, Ranbir will begin shooting for a film titled ‘L & W’.

    L & W is directed by noted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal besides Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor will also star in the sequel of Animal titled ‘Animal Park’. With several big films under his belt, we still think Ranbir Kapoor might be perfect to play the next antagonist in Dhoom 4. He is handsome, he has aura and he made the world go crazy with his acting in Animal. No doubt, Dhoom 4 will be very big with Ranbir Kapoor.

    Salman Khan

    Salman Khan is the boss. Though the last few films of him have underperformed at the box office and he is to blame for it. But he is still one of the biggest superstars in the country and everyone is wholeheartedly waiting to see him do larger-than-life movies. Salman’s last big hit came back in 2017 which was TZH from the YRF Universe.

    In recent times, the actor has been criticized by fans and critics for doing mediocre and tasteless films like Dabangg 3, Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan, Radhe, and a few more. And he did these films, especially after delivering iconic blockbusters like Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He did Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan in 2023 and as a result, his much-awaited biggie T3 released in 2023 underperformed at the box office.

    Fortunately, he has accepted his mistake and he is now looking to work only with big directors in the country and big production houses. He has signed quite a few big films with two films already under production. He is presently shooting for director AR Murugadoss’s next film titled ‘Sikander’ which is slated to release in April 2025. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Salman Khan is also confirmed to star in Karan Johar’s next titled ‘The Bull’ that will be directed by ‘Shershaah’ fame director Vishnu Vardhan.

    Salman is YRF’s favorite. They have together delivered blockbuster films like Sultan, TZH, and ETT. No wonder YRF will think of Salman Khan whenever they are looking to lock the cast of Dhoom 4.

    Shahrukh Khan

    Last but not the least. Shahrukh Khan has completely changed the game and has set new benchmarks for every Superstar in this country. He has created box office records that would be impossible to be broken anytime soon. What he has done in 2023 with Pathaan and Jawan was shocking, surprising, and unpredictable. Now every time Shahrukh Khan comes up with a large-scale film, a 1000 crore worldwide collection would be a cakewalk for him. As of now, Shahrukh Khan has only one film under production. The film is titled ‘The King’ and it is the debut movie for Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan. Earlier Shahrukh Khan was expected to do a guest appearance but now he is confirmed to play a full-fledged role in the film. The film is jointly produced by Shahrukh Khan and Pathaan fame director Sidharth Anand.

    The film is directed by Sujoy Dosh. Owning to the success of Pathaan and Jawan, SRK might be YRF’s first choice for Dhoom 4. Though the actor is confirmed to begin the shooting for Pathaan 2 once he wraps up ‘The King’.

    With Salman and Shahrukh are already associated with YRF’s Universe. Ranbir Kapoor might be suitable to get associated with YRF for Dhoom 4. Their last collaboration came in 2022 with the film Shamshera which was a box office flop.
