    Sab TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the most successful comedy TV show in the history of Indian television. Over the years Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) has gained cult status and massive fan following among Indians. The show aired on 28 July 2008 and has been running successfully to date. But for the past few years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has received criticism. Several of its cast members have quit the show including Shailesh Lodha who played one of the leads.

    Shailesh Lodha is a writer, actor, and an award-winning poet. He is one of the cast members who has been associated with the show since its inspection in 2008. Shailesh Lodha, Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, Mandar Chandwadkar, Kavi Kumar Azad, Gurucharan Singh Sodhi, Shyam Pathak, and Tanuj Mahashabde were the main male pillars and the leading cast of the show since its first episode. In 2022, Shailesh Lodha shocked everyone with his decision to quit the show after over 14 years.

    Shailesh Lodha essayed the character of writer Taarak Mehta in the show. He played one of the leads beside Dilip Joshi. In 2022, Shailesh Lodha quit the show which saddened his fans and the show’s fans. According to the reports, there were some financial disputes between Shailesh Lodha and TMKOC producer Asit Kumar Modi. Shailesh Lodha had even lodged a court against Asit Kumar Modi for his impending acting fees. After leaving the show Shailesh Lodha won the case against Asit Kumar Modi.

    Now according to actor Shailesh Lodha, his decision to quit the show was never about money but it was because of self-respect.
    Shailesh Lodha in an interview said that the show producer Asit Kumar Modi spoke to him in a bad-mannered manner and he felt insulted which made him leave the show. It was a matter of self-respect. According to Shailesh, Asit Kumar Modi disrespected him for visiting another show without his permission.

    Shailesh Lodha said that he got an invitation from a poetry reality show and he attended one of the episodes as the chief guest. Shailesh who himself is a poet didn’t want to miss the opportunity to attend a poetry show. But, Asit Kumar Modi didn’t like Shailesh’s participation in another show on another channel and he called Shailesh to ask him how he attended the poetry show without informing him or his permission.

    Shailesh Lodha tried to convince Asit Kumar Modi that he went to attend the show as a guest not as a character of its cast to play a role. Shailesh said that Asit Kumar Modi spoke in a rude tone and he couldn’t tolerate it as it has happened several times before. This time Shailesh Lodha was sure that he wouldn’t tolerate it anymore and quit the show.

    Recently actor Palak Sindhwani who featured as Sonu in TMKOC left the show after a argument with the makers. The actress played the character of Sonu, Bhide’s daughter in the show.

    Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has received harsh criticism for weak writing and uninteresting stories. A number of its main cast members have left the show to pursue and try other endeavors.

    Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah or TMKOC is one of the most loved comedy shows in India. The show has been airing on Sab TV since its inception in 2008. It is one of the longest-running shows and the longest-running Sitcom show. Over the years TMKOC has gained a cult following and is one of the most loved, cherished, and respected Indian shows ever. However, over the past few years, the viewers have been complaining that the show has lost its originality and charm.

    As mentioned earlier, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the most loved Indian comedy show ever. Everything went right for its makers when they launched this show on 28 July 2008. They had an excellent team of script and story writers. They had an amazing bunch of crew and production members. And the biggest highlight is that TMKOC had the best star cast a show could ever have. But as the years have conceded, TMKOC has been criticized heavily for coming up with dull stories and uninteresting characters. The viewers have blamed script and story writers.

    Many actors of TMKOC have left the show due to creative differences or to focus on other ventures or studies. TMKOC has been running successfully for the last sixteen years but its fan following has abridged significantly. The show is still running because of its original characters that have been associated with the show since its beginning.

    Legendary actor Dilip Joshi who plays the title character of Jethalal Gada is one of the major reasons why TMKOC is still running successfully. Besides he has excellent support from his colleague actors such as Amit Bhatt (Babuji), Mandar Chandwadkar (Bhide), Shyam Pathak (Popatlal), and many more.

    Several actors who have left the show are Disha Vakani (Daya), Bhavya Gandhi (Tapu 1), Raj Anadkat (Tapu 2), Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta), Neha Mehta (Anjali Mehta), Jheel Mehta (Sonu 1), Nidhi Bhanushali (Sonu 2), Kush Shah (Goli), Gurucharan Singh (Sodhi) and Jennifer Mistry (Roshan). Kavi Kumar Azad (Dr Hathi) and Ghanashyam Nayak (Natu Kaka) are no longer and were replaced by other actors.

    Unfortunately, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is yet to retain its lost glory even after introducing new scriptwriters and new characters.

    Yup! Indians are obsessed with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and the makers can bounce back by bringing in several changes to the show.

    Actress Disha Vakani who played the title role of Daya took maternity leave in 2017 and is yet to return to the show. The actress has decided to focus on her personal life and give her maximum time to her kids. However, the makers have been trying for the last several years and approaching her to continue her association with the show. Disha Vakani’s character of Daya is one of the most loved comedy characters ever. It is not easy to replace her with another actor but it’s high time now. The makers have to get another actress on board to essay the character of Daya. Viewers will be disappointed but will get involved with the show by bringing this major change.

    The biggest reason how TMKOC can bounce back is by bringing the most demanded and new character of Popatlal’s wife.

    Shyam Pathak who plays the character of Popatlal is happily married and has kids in real life. But in TMKOC his imminent marriage is one of the biggest highlights of the show. We are sure viewers will jump to watch TMKOC passionately once Popatlal gets married. It’s high time now. Makers should introduce a new character of Popatlal’s wife and present his wedding episodes.

    Despite criticism, the cast, crew, and makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are trying hard to continue the show. And they are blessed with a loyal fan following. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is still topping the charts. But the makers have to advance the comedy levels.

    Many Bollywood celebrities have made an appearance in the show to promote their films. Celebrities such as Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and several more have made an appearance in the show.

    Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the recipient of several awards. It is the No.1 show in India. Its legacy and impact are nonpareil. We hope that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continues successively with a slight improvement.
