  • Devara Movie Review: Long And Exhausting

    The film received mixed to positive reviews

    Jr NTR is one of the biggest names in India. He is one of the most successful and loved actors in the South. He is a South actor and one of the highest-paid actors in India. His recent film ‘Devara Part 1’ has just been released on Netflix and is trending in the Top 10 in India.

    Devara Part 1

    Devara Part 1 is a 2024 Telugu drama periodic film starring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film also features Prakash Raj, Jhanvi Kapoor, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, and Zarina Wahabh among others.

    Devara Part 1 was released globally on 27 September 2024. Upon its release, Devara Part 1 received mixed to positive reviews but emerged as a commercial success. It is a two part film.

    Devara Part 1 earned over 170+ crores on its opening day and grossed over 400 crores worldwide. The digital rights of the film were sold to Netflix for a whopping 150 crores.

    Devara Part 1 Review

    Devara Part 1 could have been an extraordinary film. The film Devara had a new and interesting subject and story. However, there are quite a few faults in the film.

    The run time for Devara Part 1 is too long. The movie is almost 3 hours long and fails to entertain viewers for that long. There should have been a comic relief. But Devara completely focuses on Jr NTR’s dual character of father and son. Also, the film needed a 20-minute trimming.

    Saif Ali Khan is a total waste in the film. He is not exploited well. He has the lead role as the main antagonist but in the film, his character takes the back seat. His character should have been more fearless and audacious.

    Jhanvi Kapoor was announced to play the female lead in the film. Everyone went to theatres expecting to see more of Jhanvi Kapoor and Jr NTR. But Jhanvi Kapoor is seen in an extended cameo appearance. She just has a 15-minute cameo with two songs. Instead of superfluous songs, there should have been a comedy sequence featuring Jr NTR and Jhanvi Kapoor.

    Jr NTR justifies his role. He essays the dual role of father and son. For the father role, Jr NTR did full justice to his character. He looked amazing. His sequences were solid. But Jr NTR’s portrayal of the son character was a big letdown.

    Devara Part 1 is directed by Koratala Siva. The writing of the film is weak, the editing is decent and the screenplay and direction miss the mark. The climax is puzzling at times. The film gets exhausting as the film progresses. Though the visual graphics and VFX of the film are brilliant.

    Devara Part 1 is available to watch on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages. The film will be available in Hindi soon.

    Devara Part 1 has received mixed reviews and hasn’t achieved extraordinary business at the box office. The budget of the film is over 300 crores. Though the makers have recovered the budget but audience’s perception regarding the film will worry the makers.

    Devara is a two-part film. Devara Part 2 is confirmed by the makers. But will they go ahead with the second part? Devara Part 1 has not lived up to expectations and not many are interested or waiting for the second part.

    Fans of Jr NTR and audiences on social media have rejected Devara Part 2. Jr NTR is been asked to leave the film and do another film.

  • Hrithik And Jr NTR’s W2 Set To Create History In 2025

    W2 is the biggest Indian film of 2025

    Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s W2 is one of the biggest movie releases of 2025. Precisely it is the biggest Indian film of the year and one of the most awaited films of 2025. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films. It is the sixth film from the YRF Universe. Upon its release in 2025, W2 is set to create huge box office records and will generate historical numbers.

    W2 is scheduled to be released on Thursday, 14th August 2024. The film is predicted to have a mammoth opening and will likely collect record-breaking numbers during the weekend.

    Hrithik Roshan who essayed the title character of Kabir in W1 (2019) will reprise his role in W2. Hrithik Roshan’s presence and YRF Universe marking will ensure that W2 earns over 80-100 crore in North India.

    W2 marks the Hindi debut of popular Telugu movie superstar Jr NTR. Jr NTR has come on board to play the main antagonist in the film. With Jr NTR’s presence, W2 can collect 100 crores in South India.

    With Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, W2 is estimated to earn over 200 crores on its opening day in India. A box office opening anywhere between 180-200 crores will be considered history. W2 is carrying an excellent buzz. The film might even earn 300+ crores globally on its opening day.

    W2 is going to leave behind Pathaan and W1 (2019) in terms of stunts, lavish filmmaking, songs, locations, brilliant direction, and cinematography. The film is presently being shot in Mumbai after wrapping up the Europe shooting schedule.

    Hrithik and Kiara Advani recently shot a song in Italy. The film also stars Anil Kapoor in a key role. Jr NTR and Hrithik will shoot a major climax sequence this month.

    W2 is predicted to earn over 1000+ crores from all parts of India, especially from the southern states due to JR NTR’s presence. The film might earn over 1800+ crores globally. Surely W2 is going to set record breaking box office numbers. This film is going to create history in 2025.

    Besides W2, Salman Khan’s Sikandar and Shahrukh Khan’s King are the biggest Indian movie releases of 2025. But none of the films is carrying the hype like W2.

  • SS Rajamouli Is India’s Indomitable Filmmaker

    SS Rajamouli is the most influential and biggest filmmaker in India.

    Born into a Telugu film family and to writer-director V. Vijayendra Prasad, today SS Rajamouli is one of the most cherished filmmakers in the world. His last few films are critically acclaimed with global widespread popularity and enormous success.

    SS Rajamouli started his film career in 2001 by directing Raghavendra Rao’s ‘Student No: 1’ starring Jr. NTR in the lead role. The film went on to become a blockbuster and the biggest commercial hit of 2001. SS Rajamouli’s debut directional film was a big success but it was also the first success for Jr. NTR. The director–actor duo, Rajamouli and Jr. NTR collaborated for another film in 2003 titled Simhadri. Once again, the film went on to become a blockbuster and one of the highest-grossing films in 2003.

    Following the success of Student No: 1 and Simhadri, SS Rajamouli became one of the biggest names in the Telugu film industry. He received plenty of directional offers at that time. His next few directionals such as Sye (2004), Chatrapathi (2005), Vikramarkudu (2006), and Yamdonga (2007) all were huge successes.

    Critical acclaim and blockbuster films

    In 2009, SS Rajamouli directed a romantic fantasy film titled ‘Magadheera’. The film starred Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, Srihari, and Dev Gill among others. The film proved to be a game-changer for its lead cast and makers. Magadheera received critical acclaim and widespread popularity. The film received highly positive reviews and went on to become one of the highest-grossing films ever in 2009. It was the first Telugu film to earn over 100 crores and gross over 150 crores globally. Magadheera won the National Film Award for Best Choreography and Best Special Effects at the 57th National Film Awards.

    In 2012, SS Rajamouli directed one of his most ambitious projects of that time. He directed Eega (The Fly), a fantasy film starring Kichcha Sudeep, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Nani. The film received widespread critical acclaim and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in 2012. Eega won two National Film Awards and over five Filmfare Awards. Eega is listed as one of the best Telugu and Indian films. The film grossed over 130 crores globally. The film came as an arrival for SS Rajamouli to global success and global fame.

    Pan-India foundation, international recognition, critical acclaim and massive success

    Things changed for SS Rajamouli post the success of Eega. He was confident like never before and presented his most ambitious project to the world. He introduced the Pan-India film moment with his Telugu film dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada released in every part of India on a massive scale.

    In 2015, he directed the epic periodic film Baahubali: The Beginning starring an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan among others.

    Made on a budget of 180 crores, it was the most expensive Telugu film at that time. Baahubali: The Beginning was released on 10 July 2015 to universal critical acclaim and widespread popularity. It was hailed as one of the best Indian films of all time. The film received highly positive reviews for its direction, writing, screenplay, special effects, background score, music, and performance of the cast. The film grossed over 600 crores globally and is regarded as one of the greatest epic periodic films in India. Post the climax scene of Baahubali: The Beginning, a sequel was announced at the end of the film and its sequel became the most awaited and most anticipated film in India.

    The sequel and second part titled Baahubali: The Conclusion was released on 28 April 2017. The film achieved a record-breaking opening and went on to gross over 1800 crores becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. In 2017, Baahubali: The Conclusion became India’s most critically acclaimed and biggest hit of all time. It received widespread popularity on the global stage. With Baahubali: The Conclusion, the Pan–India moment was successful with directors dubbing their films in various languages instead of remaking them. Baahubali: The Conclusion ranks amongst the greatest Indian films of all time. The film collected over 500 crores in Hindi language and remained the highest-grossing Hindi film till 2023. In 2023, Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan broke the record and became highest highest-grossing Hindi film. Baahubali: The Conclusion remains the most influential Indian film of all time.

    Post the Baahubali franchise, SS Rajamouli established international popularity and achieved fame and success that no other Indian filmmaker has ever met.

    In 2019, Rajamouli announced another ambitious project of his starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. The film was titled RRR.

    RRR was released on 25 March 2022 and like SS Rajamouli’s past films, RRR too received widespread critical acclaim and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The global box office collection of RRR stands at 1300 crores. The film also starred Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in special appearances. RRR met universal critical acclaim and received highly positive reviews. The film went on to become India’s most influential film in the world. The film received highly positive reviews from well-known critics.

    RRR received global recognition like no other Indian film ever. The film aired on Netflix and became the most-watched Indian film in the USA and other countries. SS Rajamouli released Eega, Baahubali Part 1 and Part 2, and RRR in the USA and Japan. The film received several big awards in India and the USA as well. The film won the Best Original Song award at the Academy Awards. Director SS Rajamouli was highly hailed by some of the biggest filmmakers in the world including James Cameron.

    Though the film is not officially announced yet but SS Rajamouli has confirmed his next with Mahesh Babu. Like Ram Charan, Jr. NTR and Prabhas, Mahesh Babu is another big actor from the Telugu film Industry. He is one of the most handsome and charming actors in India. SS Rajamouli’s next is a globetrotting adventure set in Africa. The film production is expected to begin by the end of 2024.

    Hrithik Roshan is presently on a break as he suffered an injury. But his fans are cheering as Hrithik’s superhero film franchise Krrish is returning with its fourth part.     But with Priyanka Chopra moving to the US and Hollywood, it is uncertain if she will continue to reprise her role in Krrish 4. According to the sources, Shraddha Kapoor has been approached by the makers of Krrish 4. Either she will replace Priyanka Chopra or will come on board for a prominent role. Actor Vivek Oberoi took the job of the main antagonist in the previous part of Krrish. It will be interesting to see which actor comes on board as the main antagonist in Krrish 4. Krish 4 is bigger and grander than ever before.

    As of now, Hrithik Roshan has shot a major fight sequence of W2 in Mumbai. He along with the entire crew of W2 will soon leave for Europe to shoot a long and major portion of the movie.

    Released in 2019, the success of W1 changed the fate of Hrithik Roshan. With W1, he delivered his highest-grossing film ever. The film earned over 53 crores on its opening day in India and entered the 300-crore club in India. The film grossed over 450 crores globally becoming a blockbuster.

    Hrithik’s next release after W1 came in 2022. He starred opposite Saif Ali Khan in Pushkar & Gayathri’s directional Vikram Vedha, a remake of the Tamil film of the same name, also directed by Pushkar & Gayathri. The original movie in Tamil starred R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The Tamil version was critically acclaimed and was commercially successful. But the Hindi version that starred a brilliant cast like Hrithik and Saif failed at the box office. Though the film received positive reviews but the film failed to perform well at the box office.

    Hrithik’s last and most recent release came in January 2024. It was perhaps one of the biggest films of his career. The film also starred Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi among others. FTR was directed by Pathaan (2023) and W1 (2019) director Siddharth Anand. The film is produced by Siddharth Anand under his new production company Marflix Pictures.

    FTR is an aerial drama. The film is the first installment of a planned aerial drama film franchise. However, the future of Siddharth Anand’s planned aerial drama film franchise is uncertain because FTR failed to match the expectations of the audience. FTR had a great opening weekend at the box office but the film failed to perform on the weekdays. Made on a budget of 250 crores, the film earned over 300 crores globally but didn’t achieve the blockbuster status. FTR received mixed to positive reviews. It was the most anticipated film of the year.

    As of now, Hrithik Roshan is shooting for his next biggie which is slated to release on Independence Day 2025.

    Aditya Chopra, head of Yash Raj Films (YRF) produced drama stunt movies ETT (2012) and TZH (2017) with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Both films were blockbusters at the box office.

    In 2019, Aditya Chopra produced another drama film ‘W1’ with Hrithik Roshan and T Shroff as a standalone film. Again, W1 was a blockbuster at the box office.

    But after signing Shahrukh Khan in Pathaan, Aditya Chopra developed the idea of the YRF Universe.
