  • Designer Masaba Gupta Elated With Mom’s National Award Win

    Renowned Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta is overjoyed with her mother Neena Gupta’s National Award win. Neena Gupta was honored with the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her 2022 adventure film Uunchai. The ‘National Award’ is considered as the biggest award in India for film and TV personalities.

    Uunchai is an adventure drama film directed by renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya. The film stars an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Parineeti Chopra among others. Uunchai is a film about three childhood friends who are in their 80s and they decide to climb Mount Everest.

    Upon its release, Uunchai received critical acclaim and emerged as a hit. The film won numerous awards including two prestigious National Film Awards. Neena Gupta won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress whereas the movie director Sooraj Barjatya the National Film Award for Best Director.

    Neena Gupta’s daughter Masaba Gupta took Instagram to share the picture and captioned ‘Will tell my baby NaniJi is the coolest and was winning National Awards since 1994 with flowers in her hair’. Neena Gupta previously won a National Award in the year 1994.

    Neena Gupta today is one of India’s highly acclaimed actresses. She has been featured in numerous TV shows, web series, and Indian films.

    In 2017, in a bold move, Neena Gupta shared a post on Instagram asking for job and acting work. Her Instagram post made headlines and seemed modest. She received several offers after her Instagram post.

    In 2018, she featured and played one of the leads in the blockbuster comedy-drama film ‘Badhaai Ho’. The film was written and directed by Amit Sharma. Badhaai Ho received widespread critical acclaim and is regarded as one of the best comedy films. The film happened to be career career-changing movie for its lead cast Ayushmann Khurrana, Gajraj Rao, and Sanya Malhotra including Neena Gupta.

    Neena Gupta has featured in several critically acclaimed films such as 83, Kaagaz 2, Mast Mein Rehne De, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, Goodbye, Dial 100, Panga, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Mulk and Vadh among others.

    Neena Gupta is presently seen in Amazon Prime Video’s most successful show Panchayat. She is shooting for its fourth season which will release in 2026.

    Prime Video’s award-winning and critically acclaimed show Panchayat is set to return with its fourth season. The third season of Panchayat aired just a few months ago on Prime Video. The series received critical acclaim and became the most-watched digital show and web series. Now the makers have confirmed that they are shooting for the fourth season of the show.

    According to the reports, the makers of Panchayat have begin the shooting for their show on 25th October 2024. All its existing cast will reprise their roles. The fourth season is going to be bigger and more exciting. The makers have already planned the fifth season of the show too.

    Panchayat is the only show that one can watch with his entire family. Be it children or parents, Panchayat is a complete family show.. And this is what has worked for the makers till now. Panchayat is a drama show but it fruitfully succeeds in carrying excellent humor, beautiful emotions, and an amazing friendship between everyone. The rivalry between Bhushan and everyone is epic to watch.

    The first season of Panchayat aired in 2020. The series aired with eight episodes. According to Neena Gupta, in an interview, she revealed that she was nervous and scared thinking about the insight of the audience regarding their show.

    Neena Gupta believed that the first episode of the show was slightly slow and viewers would stop watching the series after watching the first episode. But as the show progressed, Panchayat picked up the pace from the second episode and ended up becoming one of the most successful shows of 2020. The second season aired in 2022 while the third season aired in 2024.

    Panchayat features Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Secretary, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey, Pradhanji, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi Dubey, Pradhan, Chandan Roy as Vikas Shukla, Assistant, Faisal Malik as Prahlad, Assistant and Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan among others.

    Over the years Panchayat has gained a cult fan following in India and is one of the most loved shows. The show has received widespread success in several foreign countries. The show is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra.
