Jigra’s theatrical rights for the digital platform and Television have been sold for a whopping 90 crores. You heard it right. In one of the largest deals for a female-oriented film. The film will release on Netflix soon. The makers have recovered the budget but it is not a profitable venture.

Alia Bhatt has led three big banner and high-budget female-oriented films. The three are Raazi (2018), Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) and Jigra (2024).
Raazi is a drama film directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar. The film starred Alia Bhatt in the lead with Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shishir Sharma appearing in supporting roles.
Raazi was released on 11 May 2018 to widespread critical acclaim and praise for its editing, direction, screenplay, story, and performance by Alia Bhatt. Raazi grossed over 200 crores globally becoming the highest-grossing female-oriented film ever.
Following the success of Raazi, Alia Bhatt was featured in another female-oriented film. In 2022, Alia Bhatt starred in the biographical drama film Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Gangubai Kathiawadi earned over 200 crores becoming another highest-grossing female-oriented film for Alia Bhatt. Gangubai Kathiawadi received widespread critical acclaim receiving numerous awards including the National Film Award for Best Actress for Alia Bhatt.
Unlike Raazi and Gangubai Kathiawadi, Jigra flopped at the box office for which the film director Vasan Bala blamed himself. Jigra was co-produced by Alia Bhatt herself.
Alia Bhatt will be seen next in the 2025 high budget film ‘Alpha’. It is her fourth female-oriented film. Alpha is a high-budget film and a part of the YRF Universe. The film also stars Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol as the main antagonist.
