  • Shahrukh Khan Confirms His Next Movie After Dunki

    The actor recently celebrated his 59th birthday

    On his 59th birthday on 2nd November 2024, Shahrukh Khan confirmed his next film. Though he has yet to announce the film officially. But at an event held on his birthday recently, he confirmed his next film titled ‘King’. He said that he is working hard for King, he is trying to lose weight and workout. He clearly stated that King is a massive entertainer and he is quite excited about it. He is confident that King will emerge as a blockbuster and will win critical acclaim.

    King is an upcoming big film directed by Sujoy Gosh. Sujoy Gosh is a critically acclaimed filmmaker known for directing several critically acclaimed and award-winning films.

    King is jointly produced by Sidharth Anand. Sidharth Anand is a writer, producer, and director. He is highly known for directing large-scale and blockbuster films such as Pathaan (2023), W1 (2019), and Bang Bang (2014).

    King features Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, and Abhay Verma. King is the debut film of Suhana Khan, Suhana is Shahrukh Khan’s daughter.

    Shahrukh Khan was initially supposed to do an extensive guest appearance in King. The film was completely meant for Suhana Khan. However, the writers of the film made several changes to the script and carved new sections to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead.

    Now, Shahrukh Khan is doing the lead in the film with Suhana Khan acting as the second lead. The film features Abhishek Bachchan as the main antagonist and young actor Abhay Verma in a pivotal role. Several other big actors and actresses of Bollywood will join the cast of King.

    The budget of King is over 200 crores. Shahrukh Khan is co-producing the film along with Sidharth Anand. Shahrukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment will produce the film and will perform the visuals, graphics, and VFX of the film. The film will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, London and Rome.

    The buzz of King on social media is high. Shahrukh Khan’s last three films Dunki, Jawan, and Pathaan have emerged as major commercial success at the box office. In fact, Jawan and Pathaan are amongst the highest grossing Indian film ever. Shahrukh Khan’s fan following in India and globally has doubled ever since he made a comeback in 2023 after several box office flops. He is enjoying his space. He is once again at the peak of his career at the age of 59. He is only interested in doing big large scale films and he is enjoying his time watching cricket matches and IPL. His IPL cricket team ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’ won the last IPL.

    King is set to release in 2025 but may get postponed to 2026. According to the reports, the makers of King are planning their movie quite similar to John Wick Part 1.

    With over three major releases in 2023, Shahrukh Khan had no release in 2024. King is the only film is doing right now. He will soon leave India to begin the prep for King in New York.

    Dhoom is one of the most successful Indian film franchises

    Yash Raj Films (YRF) is one of India’s biggest movie production houses based in Mumbai. The YRF head Aditya Chopra enjoys two massive film franchises ‘Dhoom and YRF Universe’ under his production banner. We have seen YRF going all out with their YRF Universe by bringing films like Pathaan, W1, TZH, and T3 in recent times and a few more films that are under production. But the YRF team is quite slow on taking the Dhoom franchise onward. The last and third part of Dhoom came back in 2013.

    The second part of Dhoom titled ‘Dhoom 2’ was released in 2006 with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles and Hrithik Roshan as the new main antagonist. Dhoom 2 met the expectations and became one of the highest-grossing films of all time in 2006 and broke several box office records.

    The third part of Dhoom titled ‘Dhoom 3’ was released in 2013 again with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra and legendary actor Aamir Khan in a dual role as the main antagonist. Dhoom 3 received widespread popularity. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film grossed over 400 crores in just ten days becoming a major commercial success.

    With John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan already featured in the Dhoom series we only see these three Bollywood actors who can do justice and might feature in Dhoom 4. However, Dhoom 4 is not been officially announced yet. But it will surely happen in the future.

    Ranbir Kapoor

    Ranbir Kapoor is presently the most popular actor in India. The actor has received a cult following and his film career has taken a giant step frontward post the success of his last film Animal (2023). He is already giving tough competition to some of the biggest superstars of the country, Prabhas, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Aamir Khan. Ranbir Kapoor has quite a few big releases under production. He is presently shooting for ‘Dangal’ director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming ‘RMY’ along with actress Sai Pallavi and actor Yash. The film is made on a whopping budget of 800+ crores with the first part of a movie set to release between 2025 – 2026. After wrapping up RMY, Ranbir will begin shooting for a film titled ‘L & W’.

    L & W is directed by noted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal besides Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor will also star in the sequel of Animal titled ‘Animal Park’. With several big films under his belt, we still think Ranbir Kapoor might be perfect to play the next antagonist in Dhoom 4. He is handsome, he has aura and he made the world go crazy with his acting in Animal. No doubt, Dhoom 4 will be very big with Ranbir Kapoor.

    Salman Khan

    Salman Khan is the boss. Though the last few films of him have underperformed at the box office and he is to blame for it. But he is still one of the biggest superstars in the country and everyone is wholeheartedly waiting to see him do larger-than-life movies. Salman’s last big hit came back in 2017 which was TZH from the YRF Universe.

    In recent times, the actor has been criticized by fans and critics for doing mediocre and tasteless films like Dabangg 3, Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan, Radhe, and a few more. And he did these films, especially after delivering iconic blockbusters like Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He did Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan in 2023 and as a result, his much-awaited biggie T3 released in 2023 underperformed at the box office.

    Fortunately, he has accepted his mistake and he is now looking to work only with big directors in the country and big production houses. He has signed quite a few big films with two films already under production. He is presently shooting for director AR Murugadoss’s next film titled ‘Sikander’ which is slated to release in April 2025. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Salman Khan is also confirmed to star in Karan Johar’s next titled ‘The Bull’ that will be directed by ‘Shershaah’ fame director Vishnu Vardhan.

    Salman is YRF’s favorite. They have together delivered blockbuster films like Sultan, TZH, and ETT. No wonder YRF will think of Salman Khan whenever they are looking to lock the cast of Dhoom 4.

    Last but not the least. Shahrukh Khan has completely changed the game and has set new benchmarks for every Superstar in this country. He has created box office records that would be impossible to be broken anytime soon. What he has done in 2023 with Pathaan and Jawan was shocking, surprising, and unpredictable. Now every time Shahrukh Khan comes up with a large-scale film, a 1000 crore worldwide collection would be a cakewalk for him. As of now, Shahrukh Khan has only one film under production. The film is titled ‘The King’ and it is the debut movie for Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan. Earlier Shahrukh Khan was expected to do a guest appearance but now he is confirmed to play a full-fledged role in the film. The film is jointly produced by Shahrukh Khan and Pathaan fame director Sidharth Anand.

    The film is directed by Sujoy Dosh. Owning to the success of Pathaan and Jawan, SRK might be YRF’s first choice for Dhoom 4. Though the actor is confirmed to begin the shooting for Pathaan 2 once he wraps up ‘The King’.

    With Salman and Shahrukh are already associated with YRF’s Universe. Ranbir Kapoor might be suitable to get associated with YRF for Dhoom 4. Their last collaboration came in 2022 with the film Shamshera which was a box office flop.

    Post Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor took a major hiatus from Bollywood. He returned in 2022. He starred in Shamshera which opened to a poor response from the audience and was declared a big box office disaster. But post-Shamshera there has been no stopping for Ranbir Kapoor.

    He once again delivered a few consecutive hits such as Brahmastra: Part One, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, and Animal. While Brahmastra and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar did good numbers at the box office. Animal is Ranbir’s highest-grossing film and one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time.

    Post Animal, Ranbir Kapoor is set to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming RMY. Ranbir is also set to reprise his role in the sequel of Animal. Again, he is set to reprise his role in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. He is also set to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film with his wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. If presented well and accurately, Nitesh Tiwari’s RMY could be the biggest hit of all time. It stars Sai Pallavi, KGF fame Yash, and Sunny Deol. It is one of the most expensive Hindi films ever. The expectations are sky-high from RMY. The film can easily gross over 1000+ crores.

    Whereas Animal Park, a sequel to Animal is in the pipeline. Concerning the popularity of Animal (2023), Animal Park will easily emerge as one of the biggest hits of all time when released.

    Popularity, stardom, and now the box office, there is no doubt that Ranbir Kapoor is one of the biggest actors in Indian cinema and one of the most desirable actors in Bollywood. He is already in the league of Khans. While Shahrukh Khan recently delivered two biggest hits of Bollywood in 2023, Salman Khan’s last big hit came in 2017 while Aamir Khan saw his last hit film in 2016. In 2017, he starred in Rahul Dholakia’s Raees which did pretty decent business at the box office but did not do perform extraordinarily.

    Shahrukh Khan’s career took a major setback when he starred in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. The film starred Anushka Sharma opposite Shahrukh Khan. Released in 2017, Jab Harry Met Sejal received highly negative reviews and emerged as a box office flop. Shahrukh Khan and Imtiaz Ali were highly criticized for doing the film.

    Post Jab Harry Met Sejal, Shahrukh Khan starred in Anand L Rai’s Zero with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Zero was one of the most anticipated films of 2018. The film also starred Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol, Sridevi, Juhi Chawla, and Alia Bhatt in guest appearances. Upon its release, Zero opened to highly negative reviews and was declared a box office flop.

    After a series of flop and average films such as Fan, Happy New Year, Dilwale, Jab Harry Met Sejal, and Zero, Shahrukh Khan took a major hiatus of five years.

    Released in 2013, Chennai Express was his last blockbuster film that was cherished by the audience. Many even thought that the actor was finished and he would no longer taste success in his film career. The actor had no major film release till 2023. However, he made special appearances in 2022 films such as Rocketry, Brahmastra, and Laal Singh Chaddha.

    After a hiatus of five years, Shahrukh Khan returned in 2023 with three major film releases.

    In January 2023 he starred Yash Raj Film’s Pathaan from the YRF Universe. Pathaan stars Shahrukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Salman Khan who stars as T in YRF’s ETT and TZH reprised his role in Pathaan by doing a guest appearance. Pathaan was made on a budget of 225 crores and was released on 25 January 2023.     Upon its release, Pathaan received highly positive reviews and was named it a very entertaining high-octane film. Pathaan broke several records and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. By the end of its theatrical run, Pathaan was declared the biggest blockbuster by grossing over 1000+ crores at the box office. It was the beginning of Shahrukh Khan’s epic comeback.

    In the same year, in September, Shahrukh Khan played the lead in the film Jawan alongside, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone (special appearance). Jawan was another high-octane epic film by Shahrukh Khan after Pathaan. The film is directed by Atlee. Upon its release, Jawan was declared a blockbuster on the first day itself. The film broke several box office records to emerge as a major commercially successful film. The film shattered all the records created by Pathaan and registered new box office records that are perhaps difficult for any other film to break anytime soon. Like Pathaan, Jawan too grossed over 1000+ crores at the box office.

    With Pathaan and Jawan, Shahrukh Khan made the biggest comeback in the history of Indian Cinema. He was the most popular star in India throughout the year. In December 2023 he had his final and third release of the year with Rajkumar Hirani. The actor acted in Rajkumar Hirani’s drama film Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu, Boman Hirani, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar, and Vicky Kaushal (special appearance). Dunki, however, received mixed reviews and did not perform like Pathaan and Jawan. But the film was still commercially successful for the makers.

    Following a five-year hiatus, Shahrukh Khan had three major commercial hits in 2023 which once again cemented his status as the King of Indian Cinema. He made one of the biggest comebacks in the history of World Cinema. But now what’s next for him now?

    There is no major release of Shahrukh Khan as of now. According to the reports, the actor will soon start shooting for a film titled King. King is an big entertainer film that marks the debut of Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan. The film is directed by Sujoy Dosh and produced by Shahrukh Khan and Sidharth Anand.
