In 2021, YRF (Yash Raj Films) announced that they are making a web series on the Bhopal Incident. The series was titled ‘The Railway Men’.

The Railway Men is based on the Bhopal incident. But The Railway Men tells the unsung true stories of Bhopal Railway Station employees who handled millions of citizens and evacuated them out of the city through trains.
The series ‘The Railway Men’ is inspired from Bhopal Railway Station master Ghulam Dastagir and other employees of the railway station who saved millions of lives on the night of the incident.
The Railway Men featured several critically acclaimed actors such as Kay Kay Menon, R Madhavan, and Divyenndu in the lead roles. The series also featured late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan in his digital debut. The series also starred Juhi Chawla, Sunny Hinduja, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Denzil Smith, Raghubir Yadav, Mandira Bedi, Sunita Rajwar, Manish Wadhwa and Mushtaq Khan in the supporting roles.
The Railway Men was directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by YRF (Yash Raj Films). It was YRF (Yash Raj Films)’s first digital web show.
The shooting of The Railway Men began late in 2021 and was wrapped by mid-2022. However, the show suffered a delay due to numerous reasons and was finally announced by Netflix to release in November 2023. The show embraces just four episodes.
