Varun stated Aditya Chopra is fond of big stylish films and he asked him to cast him in a similar film but Aditya declined to cast him in any film. Aditya Chopra said to Varun that he can’t produce such a high-budget with any young actor and he hasn’t reached the status where he can promise a film to emerge as a blockbuster. Only Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan can promise to deliver a blockbuster.

    However, Varun Dhawan expressed his gratitude to Prime Video and director duo Raj & DK who offered him Citadel: Honey Bunny. Citadel: Honey Bunny is a high-octane series featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

The film was helmed by J. P. Dutta who is highly known for directing epic drama films.

    Released on 13 June 1997, B1 received positive reviews and widespread critical acclaim. It remained the most popular Indian film throughout the year and emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. It was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1997. Besides the film won several awards..

    Now, in 2024, the makers of B1 are planning the sequel of their blockbuster film. Sunny Deol will return to headline the project once again. And, this time, several young actors from the new generation have been approached for the lead characters of the movie. For the same, many young actors have been approached to join the cast.     Besides Varun, the makers of B2 earlier signed Ayushmann Khurrana as one of the male leads in B2. Now the makers have also signed Varun Dhawan. But some reports also suggest that Ayushmann Khurrana has walked out of the project due to other film commitments and Varun Dhawan has replaced him. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. The makers are planning a big event in Mumbai where they will officially announce the film. All the cast members, crew, and the makers of B2 will be present at the event.
