The Indian form of American global internet streaming platform ‘Netflix’ was launched in India in January 2016. Ever since its launch Netflix India has provided thousands of shows, films, and documentaries from all over the world that have interested the viewers in India. Netflix India has also produced dozens of Indian shows and films that have taken its brand to a new place.

While Netflix India has announced a couple of upcoming shows and films for 2024, here are the Top 10 Web Series from Netflix India you can’t miss to watch

Sacred Games (2018)

Sacred Games produced and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap was the first ever Indian show presented and produced by Netflix India. The first season of Sacred Games got an overwhelming response as it was released in 191 countries and 20 languages. Some critics even called Sacred Games among the Top TV Shows of the decade. The crime thriller show stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi, and Jatin Sarna among others. The show lasted for two seasons and sixteen episodes. The critically acclaimed show is based on Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name.

Delhi Crime (2019)

Netflix India’s second show titled Delhi Crime is amongst the best crime thriller series made in India. Released in 2019, Delhi Crime is based on the 2012 Delhi case. The show is completely inspired by true stories and events. Upon its release, Delhi Crime got positive reviews for its story, screenplay, direction, and performance. Delhi Crime won the Best Drama Series award at the International Emmy Awards. The show stars Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal, and Adil Hussain among others. The second season was released in 2022 and the show is renewed for a third season as well. The first season is directed by Richie Mehta.

Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (2022)

Created, produced, and directed by Neeraj Pandey, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter is another great show from Netflix India. Once again it is inspired by a true story. Director Neeraj Pandey is popularly known for directing spy thriller films and series. Set in Patna district, India, Khakee is based on the true events of a popular gangster in Patna and a popular IPS office. The show starred Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwari, Abhimanyu Singh, Jatin Sarna, Ashutosh Rana, and Nikita Dutta among others. The show is renewed for the second season.

CAT (2022)

CAT is amongst the best shows from Netflix India. The crime thriller series is based on the mafia and crime in the region of Punjab. It is the first-ever Punjabi language series by Netflix India and the debut series for Randeep Hooda. The series is renewed for another season. CAT stars Randeep Hooda, Danish Sood, Suvinder Vicky, Geeta Agarwal, Neha Pawar, and Kavya Thapar among others. The series is created, written, produced, and directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua. Although not announced CAT can be renewed for another season.

Kohrra (2023)

Kohrra is one of the highly-rated series presented by Netflix India. The crime drama series was created by Sudip Sharma and directed by Randeep Jha. The show is produced under popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s production company Clean State Films and he handled by her brother Karnesh Sharma. Kohrra received several nominations at the Filmfare OTT Shows. The series stars Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti, Harleen Sethi, and Manish Chaudhary among others. There is no confirmation by Netflix India on the second season of Kohrra.

Guns & Gulaabs (2023)

Probably the best show of 2023, Guns & Gulaabs is another gem from Netflix India. The black comedy action series is created, directed, and written by Raj & DK. Raj & DK are known as the OTT kings for producing and directing a couple of web series for several OTT platforms. All their shows are ranked highly and Guns & Gulaabs is no different. The series stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rajkumar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah, and Adarsh Gaurav among others. The show is renewed for a second season.

The Railway Men (2023)

Regarded as one of the best shows in India, The Railway Men is a historical drama series based on the horrifying 1984 Bhopal toxic gas leak which resulted in the deaths of over 16000+ and over 500000+ hurt with lifetime diseases. The Railway Men is based on the true stories of railway employees posted at Bhopal Railway Station at the time of the gas leak. The railway employees saved thousands of lives at that time through their courageous acts. The series stars Kay Kay Menon, R. Madhavan, Divyendu and Babil Khan. Kaala Paani (2023)

Kaala Paani is a survival thriller series that premiered on 18 October 2023 on Netflix. The series is written and directed by Sameer Saxena. Opened generally to positive reviews, Kaala Paani stars Mona Singh, Ashutosh Gowariker, Amey Wagh, and Radhika Mehrotra among others. The series is inspired by the COVID pandemic and tells the fictional story of a shadowy disease that comes down under the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The series is renewed for a second season.

Decoupled (2023)

Netflix’s Decoupled premiered on 17th December 2021 with the right episodes. The comedy series attracted a bit of controversy and criticism. But overall, it’s a good comedy-drama series set between a husband writer and a startup founder wife who are heading for a divorce. The series is created and produced by Manu Joseph and it is directed by Hardik Mehta. Upon its release, Decoupled became one of the most-watched shows on Netflix. Though there is no confirmation of its second season.

Aranyak (2023)

Premiered on 10 December 2021, Aranyak is a crime thriller series for Netflix written by Rohan Sippy and directed by Vinay Wikul. Aranyak tells the story of two troubled police officers who try to solve the rape case of a teenage girl that took place in a town in Himachal Pradesh. The series stars Raveena Tandon, Ashutosh Rana, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Zakir Hussain among others. The series received over five nominations at the 2022 OTT Filmfare Awards.
