Aditya Chopra is one of the most influential movie personalities in India. He is a director, producer, screenwriter, and chairman of Yash Raj Films (YRF). Yash Raj Films is one of India’s biggest film production, direction, and distribution companies. It is the leading production house in Bollywood. The company was founded by Yash Chopra and is presently upheld by his son Aditya Chopra. Despite being one of the most powerful people in the Indian Film Industry, Aditya Chopra is an introvert and has rejected fame and celebrity status. He is quite private.
Aditya Chopra under his production company Yash Raj Films has produced and delivered some of the best action films of the Indian Film Industry. He has produced action films such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Aditya Chopra has also directed Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which is considered as one of the best and one of the most influential Indian films ever.
Aditya Chopra has produced action films such as Tiger 3, Pathaan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War on a mammoth budget of 200-300 crores. The production cost of such stylish action films is quite expensive. But these films had superstars like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan who are certified to deliver a blockbuster to their producer. But it is impossible to make such a high-budget film with a young actor.
Varun Dhawan earlier in a media interaction revealed that Aditya Chopra declined an action film with him.
Varun Dhawan who was present at the trailer launch of his upcoming spy action series Citadel: Honey Bunny revealed that Aditya Chopra refused to do an action film with him.
Varun said that it was during the COVID lockdown when he met Aditya Chopra and director Maneesh Sharma, director of Tiger 3 at a badminton club. Varun stated Aditya Chopra is fond of action films and he asked him to cast him in a big action film but Aditya declined to cast him in any action film. Aditya Chopra said to Varun that he can’t produce such a high-budget action with any young actor and he hasn’t reached the status where he can promise a film to emerge as a blockbuster. Only Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan can promise to deliver a blockbuster.
However, Varun Dhawan expressed his gratitude to Prime Video and director duo Raj & DK who offered him Citadel: Honey Bunny. Citadel: Honey Bunny is a high-octane action series featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as spies.
Varun Dhawan will also be seen next in his much-awaited December release Baby John.
Baby John is an upcoming action film starring Varun Dhawan in a never-before-seen avatar. It is a hardcore action film directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees and presented by Atlee. Atlee is one of the biggest action directors in India who directed the 2023 blockbuster Jawan. Baby John is a Hindi remake of Atlee’s directed Tamil film Theri. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav among others. The film stars Varun Dhawan as a cop. Superstar Salman Khan makes a cameo appearance in the film.
